Karaikudi Junction Railway Station
Karaikkudi Junction is one of the major passenger rail head and major junction located in Sivaganga district and serving the towns of karaikudi, Devakottai and Thirupathur in Tamil Nadu. History The station was constructed as a part of Pudukkottai–Sivaganga railway line during the 1930s. Initially during its older days this station acted as an ordinary railway station when the Tiruturaipundi Aranthangi line was extend till karaikudi, it became a junction railway station. It became as a junction by connecting all the three terminal lines they are Manamadurai Sivagangai Railway line, Trichinopoly Pudukkottai Railway line and Tiruturaipundi Aranthangi Railway line. Pallavan Superfast Express is an Intercity Express (Indian Railways), Intercity express typed Superfast Express trains in India, superfast service operated by the Southern Railway zone of the Indian Railways. The 22613 / 22614 Shraddha Sethu Superfast Express is an Express train belonging to Southern Railway zone that runs between in Tamil Nadu and in Uttar Pradesh, India, via Chennai Egmore. It is currently being operated with 22613/22614 train numbers on a weekly basis. From September 19, 2021 it will be upgraded into a Superfast Express with revised coach position by removing AC First Class & Pantry Car.
