John Bosco Manat Chuabsamai
John Bosco Manat Chuabsamai ( th, มนัส จวบสมัย; ; 31 October 1935 – 20 October 2011) was the Catholic bishop of Ratchaburi from 1986 to 2003. Manat was born on 31 October 1935 in Bang Nok Khwaek. He was sent to study philosophy and theology in Madras, India, and was then ordained a priest on 10 May 1961. After ordination he worked in parish, school, and seminary posts in the diocese of Ratchaburi. In 1976/77 he studied at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC from which he obtained a master's degree in philosophy. He then taught philosophy at the Lux Mundi seminary, the only major seminary in Thailand. In 1984 he became rector of the seminary. On 25 November 1985 Manat was appointed bishop of Ratchaburi in succession to the late Joseph Ek Thabping. On 6 January 1986 he was consecrated bishop by Pope John Paul II in Rome. Bernard Fellay
Bernard Fellay (born 12 April 1958) is a Swiss bishop and former superior general of the Traditionalist Catholic priestly fraternity Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX). In 1988, Pope John Paul II announced that Fellay and three others were automatically excommunicated for being consecrated as bishops by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, an act that the Holy See described as "unlawful" and " schismatic". Archbishop Lefebvre, and Bishop Antônio de Castro Mayer who co-consecrated these four bishops, were also said to be automatically excommunicated. At that time, he was the youngest bishop of the Roman Catholic Church at 29 years old. The Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX) ( la, Fraternitas Sacerdotalis Sancti Pii X; FSSPX) is an international fraternity of traditionalist Catholic priests founded in 1970 by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, a leading traditionalist voice at the Second Vatican Council with the , and Superior General of the Holy Ghost Fathers until 1968. The society was initially established as a pious union of the Catholic Church with the permission of François Charrière, the Bishop of Lausanne, Geneva and Fribourg in Switzerland. In 2022, the society reached over 700 priestly members. The society is named after Pope Pius X, whose anti-Modernist stance the society stresses, retaining the Tridentine Mass and pre-Vatican II liturgical books in Latin for the other sacraments.
