Hills Golf Club
Hills Golf Club is a golf club located in Mölndal near Gothenburg, Sweden. It hosted the Nordea Masters in August 2018, a European Tour event. History Situated ten kilometers south of central Gothenburg, the 18-hole course, designed by Arthur Hills, opened in 2004. At a cost of SEK 175 million it is one of the most ambitions golf projects in the Gothenburg Metropolitan Area, only rivaled by Vallda Golf & Country Club, opened in 2009. A victim of the European debt crisis, in 2012 a consortium fronted by former European Tour player Johan Edfors from nearby Varberg bought the club. Edfors redesigned six of the holes and the new course was inaugurated in June 2014. The Hills course is true to its name and laid out across a rugged landscape through woodland, marshland, forest ridges and rocky outcrops. Mölndal Municipality
Mölndal Municipality (''Mölndals kommun'' or ''Mölndals stad'') is a municipality in Västra Götaland in western Sweden, just south of Gothenburg. Its seat is located in Mölndal, which lies within the Gothenburg urban area, and the whole municipality is part of Metropolitan Gothenburg. In 1911 a ''municipalsamhälle'' (a kind of borough within a rural municipality, handling matters of urban character) named Mölndal was instituted in the municipality of Fässberg. In 1922 Fässberg was made the ''City of Mölndal''. In 1971 it was amalgamated with Kållered and Lindome (the latter transferred from Halland County). At the same time it became a municipality of unitary type, like all others in the country. Anna Carin Pernilla Hjalmarsson Koch (née Hjalmarsson; born 23 February 1971) is a Swedish professional golfer who previously played on the Ladies European Tour and on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour. She was captain of the 2015 European Solheim Cup team. Amateur career Carin Koch had a successful amateur career. She represented Gullbringa Golf & Country Club, in Kungälv, north of Gothenburg, Sweden, just as elder Swedish female stars Kärstin Ehrnlund and Helen Alfredsson. The Swedish Golf Tour Final, currently known as the Ahlsell Final for sponsorhip reason, is a women's professional golf tournament on the Swedish Golf Tour, held as the final event of the season. The tournament was first played annually from 1997 to 2007 in September or October with Telia as the sponsor, the final installment of which was held at the newly opened Hills Golf Club near Gothenburg. The event was discontinued after the tour changed its title sponsor from Telia to SAS in 2008, but revived when Nordea became the main sponsor in 2011. 2007 Swedish Golf Tour (women)
The 2007 Swedish Golf Tour, known as the Telia Tour for sponsorship reasons, was the 22nd season of the Swedish Golf Tour, a series of professional golf tournaments for women held in Sweden and Finland. Amateur Caroline Hedwall won four events, and Norway's Marianne Skarpnord won the Order of Merit. Through her win, Skarpnord, along with Order of Merit runner-up Florence Lüscher from Switzerland, secured cards for the 2008 Ladies European Tour. The tour enjoyed an international field and, in all, players of six different nationalities won titles, and a further four nationalities were runner-ups. Schedule The season consisted of 12 tournaments played between May and October, where one event was held in Finland. Mark Haastrup
Mark Flindt Haastrup (born 16 April 1984) is a Danish professional golfer. Haastrup was born in Højby. He attended Georgia State University for two years before turning professional in 2007. He claimed his maiden professional victory on the second tier Challenge Tour the following year, and finished a consistent 2009 season by gaining his card for the top level European Tour at qualifying school. In his first full season on the European Tour he finished at 117 on the Race to Dubai list, and got a medical exemption card for 2011 because of a broken wrist. The following years he struggled to get back on the European Tour. In 2016 he won four tournaments on the Nordic Golf League and finished first on the Order of Merit, which gave him a full card back on the Challenge Tour. Paul James Waring (born 2 February 1985) is an English professional golfer. Waring was born in Birkenhead. He had a successful amateur career which included winning the English Amateur in 2005. He turned professional in 2007 and almost enjoyed immediate success on the second tier Challenge Tour when he lost out in a playoff to Felipe Aguilar at the Postbank Challenge in Germany. He has since competed on the European Tour after gaining his card at that year's qualifying school. On the European Tour, Waring finished tied for third place in the 2013 Portugal Masters and the 2015 Maybank Malaysian Open. In February 2017 he had his highest finish on the tour when he was runner-up in the Joburg Open. The 2018 European Tour is the 47th season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972 and the 10th edition of the Race to Dubai. The Race to Dubai was won by Italian Francesco Molinari, who was also named Golfer of the Year. India's Shubhankar Sharma was named Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year. Erik van Rooyen (born 21 February 1990) is a South African professional golfer currently playing on the European Tour and the PGA Tour. He won the 2019 Scandinavian Invitation on the European Tour, and the 2021 Barracuda Championship on the PGA Tour. The Scandinavian Masters is an annual golf tournament on the European Tour played in Sweden. In 2020 the tournament became co-sanctioned with the Ladies European Tour and rebranded as the Scandinavian Mixed, in which both male and female golfers compete. History The tournament had its origins in the Volvo Open and the Scandinavian Enterprise Open, which, in 1973, became the first Swedish stop on the European Tour schedule. In 1991, the SEO merged with the PLM Open, with the resultant tournament being called the Scandinavian Masters. The 2019 European Tour was the 48th season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972 and the 11th edition of the Race to Dubai. The Race to Dubai was won by Spain's Jon Rahm, who was also named Golfer of the Year. Scotland's Robert MacIntyre was the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year.
