Taco Remkes (born 20 November 1984) is a Dutch professional golfer who currently plays on the European Tour. Remkes earned his place on the European Tour for the 2009 season by winning three times on the Challenge Tour in 2008 on his way to 3rd on the final rankings. The Kenya Open, titled as the Magical Kenya Open for sponsorship reasons, is a professional golf tournament in Kenya founded in 1967. History The Kenya Open was an associate event on the Far East Circuit in 1967 and 1968, after which it became a cornerstone of the emerging Safari Circuit – a collection of tournaments initially in Kenya and Zambia, and then later in Nigeria, Ivory Coast and Zimbabwe. The European Tour, who had taken over running of the Safari Tour in the late 1970s, began to expand globally through the 1980s and those events formally became part of the second tier Challenge Tour in 1991. With the exception of the 1994 event, the Kenya Open remained on the Challenge Tour schedule until 2019 when it was elevated to the elite European Tour schedule. Michael Hoey (golfer)
Michael George Wilfred Hoey (born 13 February 1979) is a retired Northern Irish professional golfer who played on the European Tour and the Challenge Tour. Amateur career Hoey was born in Ballymoney but played much of his early golf at Shandon Park Golf Club in East Belfast. He won the British Amateur Championship in 2001 and was a member of the victorious 2001 Great Britain & Ireland Walker Cup team. As British Amateur Champion, he was invited to play in the Masters Tournament in 2002, where he missed the cut by a single stroke. He turned professional later that year. He played his collegiate golf at Clemson University. Karl Sven Joakim Haeggman (born 28 August 1969) is a Swedish professional golfer who formerly played on the European Tour. He was the first Swede to play in the Ryder Cup. Early life Haeggman was born in Kalmar on the east coast of the province of Småland in Sweden. He grew up close to the golf course at Kalmar Golf Club and learned the game without golf playing parents. He won the unofficial 1985 Swedish Youth Championship, Colgate Cup, at his age level (16 years old) Amateur career In 1986, Haeggman won the Swedish Junior Under 19 Championship. As a 19 year old, Haeggman won the 1988 French Open Amateur Stroke-play Championship at Chantilly, north of Paris, shooting a score of level par 288. Wil Besseling
Wil Besseling (born 9 December 1985) is a Dutch professional golfer. Besseling was born in Utrecht. He won the Dutch Amateur Match Play Championship in 2001, just two years after taking up the sport. The highlight of his amateur career came in 2006, when he won the Eisenhower Trophy in partnership with Joost Luiten and Tim Sluiter, and also finished with the lowest individual score. After turning professional at the end of 2006, Besseling played on the EPD Tour, one of the developmental golf tours based in Europe, during 2007. He finished 5th on the 2007 Order of Merit, having been in the top 20 in all but two events, with seven top tens and one victory. Club Colombia Masters
The Club Colombia Masters was a golf tournament co-sanctioned by the European Challenge Tour and the Tour de las Américas and was first played in 2007. The event was held at the Country Club de Bogotá, in Bogotá, Colombia. The tournament was organized by the Corporacion Internacional de Golf, managed by German Calle Jr. and Jorge Muñoz. This was the first golf tournament ever to be sanctioned by the European Challenge Tour in Colombia. In 2010 it was replaced on the schedule by the Copa Antioquia, held in Medellín. 2007 The first tournament was won by Edoardo Molinari from Italy. Molinari, the 2005 U.S. Amateur champion, had turned professional the year before and was trying to get onto a tour when he was invited to play in Bogotá. Antti Ahokas
Antti Juhani Ahokas (born 24 January 1985) is a Finnish professional golfer. Ahokas was born in Lappeenranta. After winning the Finnish Amateur Stroke Play Championship in 2005, he moved to the United States to attend the University of Minnesota, but left after just 3 months to return to Europe and further his ambitions as a professional. In 2006, Ahokas won the Irish Amateur Open Stroke Play Championship beating future world number 1 and major winner Rory McIlroy in a playoff. Having turned professional in 2006, Ahokas just failed to come through the European Tour final qualifying school and joined the second tier Challenge Tour for the 2007 season. The 2008 Tour de las Américas was the eighth season of the Tour de las Américas, the main professional golf tour in Latin America since it was established in 2000. The Tour de las Américas continued its close association with the European Tour, with three events being co-sanctioned by the Challenge Tour, Europe's official development tour.
