The Hainan Open is a golf tournament on the Challenge Tour, beginning in 2016, held at the Sanya Luhuitou Golf Club in Hainan, China. An event of the same name was played in 2014 and 2015 as part of PGA Tour China. 2021 Challenge Tour
The 2021 Challenge Tour was a series of professional golf tournaments collectively known as the Challenge Tour. The Challenge Tour is Europe's official developmental tour and is organised by the PGA European Tour. It was introduced in 1986 and was originally called the Satellite Tour, before being renamed with its present title in 1990. Similarly to 2020, the season was to begin in February with three tournaments in South Africa co-sanctioned with the Sunshine Tour, but in mid-January the South African swing was postponed to April–May over COVID-19 pandemic concerns. The official schedule announcement was made on 27 January 2021. In April two back-to-back events in Sweden in May were added. In August, it was announced that the Hainan Open and the Foshan Open; both played in China, were cancelled. Grant Forrest
Grant Forrest (born 19 June 1993) is a Scottish professional golfer. He plays on the European Tour, and won the 2021 Hero Open. Forrest had a successful amateur career which included being runner-up in the Amateur Championship and playing in the 2015 Walker Cup. Amateur career Forrest had an exceptionally successful amateur career. He won the Scottish Amateur in 2012 and the St Andrews Links Trophy in 2014. He reached the final of the 2015 Amateur Championship where he lost 4&2 to Romain Langasque and played in the Walker Cup later the same year. Forrest played college golf at the University of San Diego where he won four events. He turned professional in late 2016. Kalle Samooja
Kalle Samooja (born 25 January 1988) is a Finnish professional golfer. Early life Samooja was born in Turku, Finland. He started playing golf when he was eight years old after being introduced to the game by his father. Professional career Samooja competed in the European Tour Qualifying School in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2013, and 2014. He did not make it onto the European Tour during any of these experiences. During this interim period he primarily played on the Asian Tour. He did not have a ton of success but recorded top-10 finishes at the 2012 Handa Faldo Cambodian Classic and 2015 Philippine Open. Robin Roussel (born 26 August 1993) is a French professional golfer who plays on the European Tour. In May 2019, he won the Hauts de France – Pas de Calais Golf Openon the Challenge Tour. Professional career As an amateur, Roussel reached the final stage of the 2015 European Tour Q-school after a final round 62. Although he missed the cut in the final stage, he gained a place on the 2016 Challenge Tour. He turned professional before the start of the season. Amateur career Laporta started playing as a 13-year old at the San Domenico Golf in Brindisi and developed his amateur career in Italy and South Africa.
