Fibiș
Fibiș ( hu, Temesfüves; german: Fibisch) is a commune in Timiș County, Romania. It is composed of a single village, Fibiș, part of the commune of Mașloc until 2004, when it was split off. Geography Fibiș is located in the north of Timiș County, 30 km northeast of Timișoara, at the contact of the last extensions of the Lipova Plateau with the Timiș Plain. It borders Mașloc to the northeast, Remetea Mică to the east, Bencecu de Jos to the south, Pișchia to the southeast, Seceani to the west and Firiteaz and Fiscut (Arad County) to the northwest. History The first recorded mention of Fibiș dates from 1234 (''Fiues''). However, Hungarian historian claims that Fibiș was founded in 1380 on the hearth of a former village called ''Batriu''. By 1446, when it was known as ''Fÿüves'', Fibiș belonged to Arad District. At the 1717 census Fibiș had 20 houses. Timiș County
Timiș () is a county ('' județ'') of western Romania on the border with Hungary and Serbia, in the historical region of Banat, with the county seat at Timișoara. It is the westernmost and the largest county in Romania in terms of land area. The county is also part of the Danube–Criș–Mureș–Tisa Euroregion. Name The name of the county comes from the Timiș River, known in Roman antiquity as ''Tibisis'' or ''Tibiscus''. Orțișoara
Orțișoara (until 1925 Cocota; hu, Orczyfalva; german: Orzydorf; sr, Кокода, Kokoda) is a commune in Timiș County, Romania. It is composed of four villages: Călacea ( hu, Temeskalácsa; german: Kalatscha; sr, Калача, Kalača), Cornești (until 1960 Jadani; hu, Mezőzsadány; german: Schadan; sr, Жадањ, Žadanj), Orțișoara and Seceani ( hu, Temesszécsény; german: Setschan or ''Petersheim''; sr, Сечањ, Sečanj). Geography Orțișoara is located in the northern part of Timiș County, about 24 km from Timișoara. The commune's area falls within the Piedmont Plain of Vinga, part of the Tisa Plain. Mașloc
Mașloc (german: Blumenthal; hu, Máslak) is a commune in Timiș County, Romania. It is composed of three villages: Alioș, Mașloc (commune seat) and Remetea Mică. It also included Fibiș until 2004, when it was split off to form a separate commune. Name The German name of the village, ''Blumenthal'', means "village of flowers". The German colony was built in a wildflower meadow, hence the name. This is also illustrated by the old stamp of the village, depicting a valley and a flower vase with a lush bouquet of flowers. The Romanian population had great difficulties pronouncing the German name. Therefore they named the village ''Maslog'', as shown in a map from 1864–1865. ''Maslog'' was written with "s" and not with the Romanian "ș" (s-comma). ''Maslog'' was changed to ''Mașloc'', apparently taking over the ending "-loc" from the Hungarian "-lak" (''Máslak'').
