The David Desharnais Trophy is awarded annually to the most sportsmanlike player in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League since the 1970–71 season. It was originally given as a team trophy awarded to the league's West Division champions for the 1969–70 season, and known as the Frank J. Claude Andre Larose (born May 17, 1955 in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec) is a Canadian retired professional ice hockey winger. Career Larose was drafted first overall in the 1975 WHA Amateur Draft and played 252 games in the World Hockey Association (WHA) for the Cincinnati Stingers and Indianapolis Racers. Mike Bossy
Michael Dean Bossy (January 22, 1957April 15, 2022) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player with the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League. He spent his entire NHL career, which lasted from 1977 to 1987, with the Islanders, and was a crucial part of their four consecutive Stanley Cup championships in the early 1980s. Bossy won the Calder Memorial Trophy in 1978 as NHL rookie of the year when he set the then-record for most goals by a rookie with 53. Normand Joseph Gilles Dupont (born February 5, 1957) is a Canadian retired ice hockey forward (ice hockey), forward. As a youth, he played in the 1970 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from Montréal-Nord. The Montreal Bleu Blanc Rouge (''Blue, White and Red'' in English) were a junior ice hockey team in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League from 1972 to 1975. They played at the Montreal Forum in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. History The Montreal Bleu Blanc Rouge were the result of several years of disputes between the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and the Ontario Hockey Association (OHA). In 1972 the QMJHL threatened a lawsuit to force the Montreal Junior Canadiens to return to the Quebec-based league, after departing in 1961 for the OHA. Over the summer of 1972, the Junior Canadiens ownership were granted "one-year suspension" of operations by the OHA. The QMJHL then allowed team ownership to transfer the team and its players into the QMJHL for the 1972-73 season.
