Montreal Juniors
The Montreal Juniors were a junior ice hockey team in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League from 1975 to 1982. They played at the Montreal Forum in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. History The Montreal Bleu Blanc Rouge were renamed in 1975, becoming the Montreal Juniors. The most famous graduate from the team is Denis Savard. The team played for seven seasons as the Montreal Juniors before moving to Verdun. Normand Baron
Joseph Jean Louis Normand Baron (born December 15, 1957) is a Canadian retired ice hockey player who played 27 games in the National Hockey League with the Montreal Canadiens and St. Louis Blues between 1984 and 1986. He was also, for a time, a professional bodybuilder. Born in Verdun, Province of Quebec, Quebec, Baron had played junior hockey with the Montreal Jr. Canadiens in 1976–77 and then quit to pursue a career in bodybuilding. Robert Picard
Robert Rene Joseph Picard (born May 25, 1957) is a Canadian retired professional ice hockey player. Career Robert Picard established himself as a highly regarded defensive prospect with the Montreal Juniors and Montreal Bleu Blanc Rouge from 1973 to 1977. He was selected 3rd overall by the Washington Capitals in the 1977 NHL Entry Draft. In Washington, expectations were high due to the team's abysmal performance, and Picard was expected to single-handedly reverse the losing fortunes. Picard played well, but after three seasons of unrealistic expectations he was traded to Toronto in exchange for goaltender Mike Palmateer. Toronto management gave Picard little opportunity to show what he was capable of, sending him to his hometown Montreal Canadiens in exchange for Michel Larocque in March, 1981. Gaetano "Gates" Orlando (born November 13, 1962) is a Canadian-born Italian former ice hockey centre and coach. He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Buffalo Sabres between 1984 and 1987. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1984 to 1999, was mainly spent in the Italian Serie A and Swiss Nationalliga A. Internationally Orlando played for the Italian national team at several World Championships and at the 1994 and 1998 Winter Olympics. He later coached in the minor leagues for a few years, and also worked as a scout for the New Jersey Devils of the NHL. His father's ancestry hails from Agnone, Isernia, Molise, Italy. Michael George McDougal (born April 30, 1958) is an American former professional ice hockey forward. He played 61 games in the National Hockey League with the New York Rangers and Hartford Whalers between 1978 and 1983. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1976 to 1984, was mainly spent in the minor leagues. Internationally McDougal played for the American national team at the 1977 and 1978 World Junior Championships. Biography As a youth, McDougal played in the 1969 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from Port Huron. Garth Leslie MacGuigan (born February 16, 1956) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre. He was selected by the NHL's New York Islanders 50th overall in the third round of the 1976 NHL Amateur Draft. In the same year he was drafted 56th overall in the fifth round by the Quebec Nordiques in the WHA Amateur Draft. He went on to play in five games for the New York Islanders between 1979 and 1984. He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the St. Louis Blues, Quebec Nordiques, and Pittsburgh Penguins. He is also the older brother of NHL great Mario Lemieux. Michael "Krusher" Krushelnyski (born April 27, 1960) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre/left winger who played 14 years in the National Hockey League (NHL). While playing in the NHL, he won three Stanley Cups as a player with the Edmonton Oilers and one as an Assistant Coach with the Detroit Red Wings. Mark Hardy (born February 1, 1959) is a Swiss-born Canadian former professional ice hockey defenseman who played 15 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Los Angeles Kings, New York Rangers and Minnesota North Stars between 1979 and 1994.
