Fra Bonaventura Bisi
Fra' Bonaventura Bisi (9 October 1601 – 5 December 1659) was an Italian painter of the Baroque period. He was also called ''Il Pittorino'' or ''Padre Pittorini'', as a Franciscan friar in the convent of S. Francesco in Bologna. Life and Work He was a pupil of Lucio Massari, and made miniature copies from the works of Correggio, Titian, and Guido Reni among others, which were collected in the cabinet of his patron, Alfonso IV of Modena. He also etched a few plates after Parmigianino, Reni, and an original ''Holy Family, with St. John and St. Elisabeth'', (1631). Lucio Massari
Lucio Massari (22 January 1569 – 3 November 1633) was an Italian painter of the School of Bologna. He can be described as painting during both Mannerist and early-Baroque periods. Life and work He was born in Bologna, where he initially apprenticed with an unknown painter by the name of Spinelli, then the Mannerist painter Bartolomeo Passarotti, but also worked with Bartolomeo Cesi. In 1592, he joined the Carracci studio or the ''Academy of the Incamminati'', and remained attached to Ludovico Carracci for many years. In 1604, he worked with Ludovico to fresco ''Stories of San Mauro, San Benedetto and others'' in the cloister of San Michele in Bosco. Antonio Allegri da Correggio (August 1489 – 5 March 1534), usually known as just Correggio (, also , , ), was the foremost painter of the Parma school of the High Italian Renaissance, who was responsible for some of the most vigorous and sensuous works of the sixteenth century. Guido Reni
Guido Reni (; 4 November 1575 – 18 August 1642) was an Italian painter of the Baroque period, although his works showed a classical manner, similar to Simon Vouet, Nicolas Poussin, and Philippe de Champaigne. Alfonso IV Of Modena
Alfonso IV d'Este (2 February 1634 – 16 July 1662) was Duke of Modena and Reggio from 1658 until his death. He was the father of Mary of Modena, consort of James II of England. Alfonso was born in Modena, the eldest son of Francesco I d'Este, Duke of Modena, and his first wife, Maria Caterina Farnese. He became Duke of Modena and Reggio after his father's death in 1658.
