Dreamworld Express
The Dreamworld Express is a narrow gauge railway located at the Dreamworld theme park on the Gold Coast, Queensland in Australia. History The Dreamworld Express opened with Dreamworld on 15 December 1981, as the ''Cannonball Express''. At the time, the railway only featured a single stop in Main Street. A steam locomotive built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1917 was purchased and of track was said to have been laid to develop the ride. This figure must relate to the quantity of rail used as reference to maps show that the line is only about in length. The Baldwin locomotive was originally used during the First World War in France before being relocated to Queensland for use on the cane fields. At the time of its opening, the Cannonball Express was said to be the ''Longest privately owned railway in Australia''. However, this was clearly incorrect. Main Street (Dreamworld)
Main Street is a themed land at the Dreamworld amusement park on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. The area acts as the main hub for the park catering as a gateway to many other lands including Gold Rush Country, DreamWorks Experience and Ocean Parade. History In 1974, John Longhurst purchased of land at Coomera in order to construct the Dreamworld theme park. Although a lot of the initial work was done by himself, Longhurst spared no expense when he employed designers from Disneyland (in Anaheim, California) and Walt Disney World (in Florida) to design Main Street. Dreamworld Studios was an auditorium with production facilities located at the Dreamworld (Australia), Dreamworld theme park on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Gold Coast, Australia. It is notable for being the location of ''Big Brother (Australian TV series), Big Brother Australia''s live shows. In 2019, the studio, along with the Big Brother house, was bulldozed to make way for Steel Taipan. History ''Dreamworld Studios'' opened in 1986 as the ''Music Bowl''. Blue Lagoon, Queensland
Blue Lagoon was a themed water park at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast, Queensland. The area consisted of a large mountain which contained three water slides and two swimming pools. Blue Lagoon opened in 1983 along with Village Green. The area could be accessed via Gold Rush Country and Rocky Hollow. The Dreamworld Studios was located next to the area. Blue Lagoon served as Dreamworld's water park until 2006 when the area was closed months before the opening of WhiteWater World. Disneyland Railroad
The Disneyland Railroad (DRR), formerly known as the Santa Fe & Disneyland Railroad, is a 3-foot () narrow-gauge heritage railroad and attraction in the Disneyland theme park of the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, in the United States. Its route is long and encircles the majority of the park, with train stations in four different park areas. The rail line, which was constructed by WED Enterprises, operates with two steam locomotives built by WED and three historic steam locomotives originally built by Baldwin Locomotive Works. Tiger Island (Dreamworld)
Tiger Island is a wildlife attraction at the Dreamworld amusement park on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. In April 2019, the area was home to eight adult tigers and three cubs. This exhibit is home to both the Bengal and Sumatran tiger species. The exhibit also has events with the trainers and tigers. Normally, trainers get the tigers to do jumps and other simple tricks to entertain the audience. History Tiger Island opened in 1995 as one of only two interactive tiger exhibits in the world. The exhibit featured various locations for the tigers to live, swim and play. Rocky Hollow Log Ride
The Rocky Hollow Log Ride was a log flume which took groups of 4 riders on a gentle four and a half-minute cruise through channels, in and out of buildings, before ascending the lift hill. The ride concluded with a drop causing all riders to become soaked. The ride opened on 15 December 1981, the opening day of Dreamworld. ''Motocoaster'' is a long motorcycle roller coaster at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. The A$10 million ride, constructed by Intamin and opened to the public in September 2007, was associated with Australian motorcyclist Mick Doohan until 2022. The Giant Drop
The Giant Drop is a drop tower ride located at the Dreamworld theme park on the Gold Coast, Australia. Manufactured by Intamin, the ride was added in December 1998 to the existing Dreamworld Tower which housed the Tower of Terror.
