Tiger Island (Dreamworld)
Tiger Island is a wildlife attraction at the Dreamworld amusement park on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. In April 2019, the area was home to eight adult tigers and three cubs. This exhibit is home to both the Bengal and Sumatran tiger species. The exhibit also has events with the trainers and tigers. Normally, trainers get the tigers to do jumps and other simple tricks to entertain the audience. History Tiger Island opened in 1995 as one of only two interactive tiger exhibits in the world. The exhibit featured various locations for the tigers to live, swim and play. Just three years later, in October 1998, Dreamworld welcomed their first litter of four Bengal tiger cubs consisting of Rama, Sita, Sultan and Taj. In 2006, the first litter of Sumatran tiger cubs was born featuring Indah and Rahni. The Lair (Dreamworld)
The Lair is an exotic animal exhibit at the Dreamworld theme park on the Gold Coast, Australia. It opened on 9 April 2011 with two white lions. The exhibit is to be used for a variety of other animals in the future. History On 16 February 2011, Ardent Leisure (the owners of Dreamworld) released their half year results report for the 2011 financial year. The report detailed an outlook for their 30th Birthday year. One of the items listed was an Easter holiday promotion where an exotic animal species will be showcased. Two weeks prior, the Gold Coast Bulletin detailed the rumours of white lions coming to Dreamworld. On 21 February 2011, Dreamworld officially announced via Facebook that white lions would be at Dreamworld for the April school holidays. Dreamworld Corroboree
Dreamworld Corroboree is a collection of wildlife attractions at the Dreamworld amusement park on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. The area is divided into several subsections which allow guests to view the animals in their natural habitats. Dreamworld Corroboree is a registered zoo with 800 native and barnyard animals located within the Dreamworld grounds. History Koala Country was Dreamworld's original wildlife exhibit, opening in 1987. After major redevelopment, the Australian Wildlife Experience opened in 2001, featuring Koala Country as one of five wildlife zones. During the redevelopment, access to Koala Country was limited. Perth Zoo
Perth Zoo is a zoological park in South Perth, Western Australia. The zoo first opened in 1898 and by 2011 housed 1258 animals of 164 species and an extensive botanical collection. It is a full institutional member of the Zoo and Aquarium Association (ZAA) and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA). National Zoo & Aquarium
The National Zoo and Aquarium is a privately owned zoo and aquarium in the Australian capital city of Canberra. It is located in Yarralumla at the western end of Lake Burley Griffin, next to Scrivener Dam. It recently had a major expansion, with of open range exhibits opened in May 2017. The Zoo The National Zoo and Aquarium is privately owned by Canberra businessman Richard Tindale, and is maintained as a predominantly family-run business. The zoo receives no Government or Commonwealth support and relies on entry fees from the public to continue operations.
