Dominican Republic National Football Team
The Dominican Republic national football team ( es, Selección de fútbol de República Dominicana) represents the Dominican Republic in men's international football, and is governed by the Dominican Football Federation. The team is a member of the Caribbean Football Union of CONCACAF, the governing body of football in North and Central America and the Caribbean. As of 23 June 2022, the Dominican Republic is currently ranked 151st in the FIFA World Rankings. The Dominican Republic is one of the few Caribbean nations where football is not the most popular sport. As a result, the Dominican Republic's most popular sport is baseball, which diverts away from many football talents and contributes to its lack of success in any major tournament qualification. The Venezuela national football team ( es, Selección de fútbol de Venezuela) represents Venezuela in men's international football and is controlled by the Venezuelan Football Federation (FVF), the governing body for football in Venezuela. They are nicknamed ''La Vinotinto'' ("Red wine") because of the traditional burgundy color of their shirts. The 1968 Olympic football tournament was played as part of the 1968 Summer Olympics. The tournament features 16 men's national teams from five continental confederations. The 16 teams are drawn into four groups of four and each group plays a round-robin tournament.
