Cyréna Samba-Mayela
Cyréna Samba-Mayela (born 31 October 2000) is a French athlete who competes in the 60 metres hurdles and 100 metres hurdles. She won the gold medal in the 60 m hurdles at the 2022 World Indoor Championships, with the current French national record of 7.78 seconds. Samba-Mayela holds European under-18 bests in the 60 m and 100 m hurdles (76.2 cm). She won silver medals for the 100 m hurdles at the 2017 World U18 Championships and 2021 European U23 Championships. 2016 European Athletics Youth Championships
The 2016 European Athletics Youth Championships was the first edition of the biennial, continental athletics competition for European athletes aged fifteen to seventeen. It was held in Tbilisi, Georgia from 14–17 July and was established following the 2013 Congress of the EAA in Skopje. The event programme mirrored that of the previous IAAF World Youth Championships in Athletics, with the exception of a boy's decathlon, rather than the octathlon. Around 900 athletes from 46 European Athletics Member Federations took part. This was the only edition of the championships to be described as "Youth Championships". World and European Athletics hereafter changed their nomenclature from "Youth" and "Junior" to "Under-18" and "Under-20" respectively. Gabriele “Gabbi” Cunningham (born February 22, 1998) is an American Olympic track athlete. She won the bronze medal in the 60 metres hurdles at the 2022 World Indoor Championships in Belgrade. An alumna of the North Carolina State University and from Charlotte, North Carolina, she attended Mallard Creek High School. Cunningham was a 2018 NCAA All-American for the Indoor 60m hurdles, and a 2019 NCAA All-American for the Indoor 60m and the 60m hurdles. She was a two time Pan Am Junior Championships Medalist in 2017, with gold in the 4x100m relay and bronze in the 200m. In Albuquerque on February 15, 2020, Cunningham ran 7.92 for the indoor 60m hurdles which placed her in the top 10 for the year in that discipline worldwide. Devynne Charlton
Devynne Ashtyn Charlton (born 26 November 1995) is a Bahamian athlete specialising in the 100 metres hurdles. Athletics career Charlton won the silver medal in the event at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. She took silver for the 60 m hurdles at the 2022 World Indoor Championships, setting a national record of 7.81 seconds. In 2024, Charlton set the world record for the 60 metres hurdles at 7.67 seconds at the 116th Millrose Games. She further broke the world record with a 7.65 run at the 2024 World Indoor Championships, claiming gold in the event. Athletics at the 2020 Summer Olympics were held during the last ten days of the Games. They were due to be held from 31 July – 9 August 2020, at the Olympic Stadium in Tokyo, Japan. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the games were postponed to 2021, with the track and field events set for 30 July – 8 August. The sport of athletics at these Games was split into three distinct sets of events: track and field events, remaining in Tokyo, and road running events and racewalking events, moved to Sapporo. A total of 48 events were held, one more than in 2016, with the addition of a mixed relay event.
