Big Brother Africa (season 8)
''Big Brother Africa 8'' (also known as ''Big Brother Africa: The Chase'') was the eighth season of the ''Big Brother Africa'' reality television series, produced by Endemol for M-Net. It began on 26 May 2013, running for 91 days and ending on 25 August 2013. Ikponmwosa "IK" Osakioduwa came back to host the show for the fifth season in a row. Format In this season, there were twenty-eight housemates who lived in two houses – The Ruby House and The Diamond House. Each week, two housemates would swap houses for the upcoming week until the merge was reached. The housemates were competing for US $300,000. This season, 28 participants from fourteen countries participated in the series. All fourteen countries were home to previous participants including Angola, Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Big Brother Africa
''Big Brother Africa'' is the African version of the international reality television franchise ''Big Brother'' created by producer John de Mol in 1997. The show was first aired in 2003 for one season on M-Net and broadcast to audiences in 42 African countries. In 2007, the show was back from four-year hiatus, until it got cancelled after season nine in 2014. The African version initially involved 12 countries within Africa (Angola, Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia & Zimbabwe) with two countries (Ethiopia and Mozambique) being added in season 4 and two other countries (Liberia and Sierra Leone) being added in season 7 while Rwanda was added in season 9. Each country provides at least one contestant living in an isolated house while trying to avoid being evicted by viewers and ultimately winning a large cash prize at the end of the show. ''Big Brother Africa 7'' (also known as ''Big Brother Africa: StarGame!'') was the seventh season of the ''Big Brother Africa'' reality television series produced by Endemol for M-Net. It began on 6 May 2012, and ran for 91 days ending on 5 August 2012. Ikponmwosa "IK" Osakioduwa came back to host the show for the fourth time in a row. The first episode had live performances from American rapper J. Cole, Kenyan hip hop group Camp Mulla, Nigerian musicians P-Square, Naeto C, Flavour and Davido, and South African artist Aemo E'Face in the opening ceremony. Beverly Ada Mary Osu (born 27 September 1992) is a Nigerian video vixen, model and actress. She is predominantly known for her roles in several films and for her participation in the 8th season of ''Big Brother Africa''. Osu won Model of the Year at the 2011 Dynamix All Youth Awards. Early life and education Osu, who is originally from Delta State, was born in Lagos State, in southwestern Nigeria. Osu attained her primary education from Daughters of Divine Love Convent, a school located in Enugu State. In a bid to obtain her B.Sc. degree, she applied to Babcock University, where she was granted admission to study mass communication. However, she transferred to the National Open University of Nigeria and earned her mass communication degree there.
