''Big Brother 1'' is the first season of the Polish reality television series ''Big Brother Big Brother may refer to: * Big Brother (''Nineteen Eighty-Four''), a character from George Orwell's novel ''Nineteen Eighty-Four'' ** Authoritarian personality, any omnipresent figure representing oppressive control ** Big Brother Awards, a sat ...''. The show followed a number of contestants, known as housemates, who are isolated from the outside world for an extended period of time in a custom-built house. Each week, one of the housemates is evicted by a public vote, with the last housemate remaining winning a cash prize. The show was started on March 3, 2001 and concluded on June 17, 2001, last 107 days. For the needs of ''Big Brother'', SMS Premium services were introduced for the first time in Poland. Janusz Andrzej Dzięcioł (11 December 1953 – 6 December 2019) was a Polish politician, who was also known for winning the first season of ''Big Brother''. From 2007 to 2015, he was a member of Sejm of Poland from Toruń constituency. From 2002 to 2007, he was a Grudziądz City Councillor. He was also chief of the Świecie straż miejska, the municipal police force. Big Brother Between March 2001 and June 2001 he participated in the first season of Polish ''Big Brother''. He was the oldest housemate and was the winner of that season. After that program, he starred in the comedy movie ''Gulczas, a jak myślisz?'' ( en, Gulczas, what do you think?). Świnoujście (; german: Swinemünde ; nds, Swienemünn; all three meaning "Świna ivermouth"; csb, Swina) is a city and seaport on the Baltic Sea and Szczecin Lagoon, located in the extreme north-west of Poland. Lublin is the ninth-largest city in Poland and the second-largest city of historical Lesser Poland. Sucha Beskidzka (before 1961 called only ''Sucha'') is a town in the '' Beskid Żywiecki'' mountain range in southern Poland, on the Skawa river. It is the county seat of Sucha County.
