Torredembarra (), normally called La Torre by its inhabitants, is a town in the ''comarca'' of the Tarragonès, in the province of Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain. The 2004 Ibero-American Championships in Athletics (''Spanish: XI Campeonato Iberoamericano de Atletismo'') was the eleventh edition of the international athletics competition between Ibero-American nations which was held at the Estadio Iberoamericano in Huelva, Spain on 6–8 August 2004. A record high of 27 nations took part while the number of participating athletes (430) was the second highest in the competition's history after the 1992 edition. The programme featured 44 track and field events, 22 each for men and women, and 16 championship records were broken or equalled at the three-day competition. 2003 European Athletics Junior Championships
The 2003 European Athletics Junior Championships was held in Tampere, Finland from 23 to 27 July 2003. A total of 44 events were contested; 22 by men and 22 by women. Germany had the biggest medal haul with nine golds and a total of 26, closely followed by Russia (also 9 golds but 24 medals in total). Great Britain was third with 17 medals, while Romania was fourth with ten medals. 2002 IAAF World Cup
The 9th IAAF World Cup in Athletics was an international track and field sporting event sponsored by the International Association of Athletics Federations. It was hosted by Madrid, September 21–22, 2002, in the Estadio La Peineta. The IAAF world cup event is currently held every four years. 2002 European Athletics Championships – Women's Hammer Throw
The final of the Women's hammer throw event at the 2002 European Championships in Munich, Germany was held on August 9, 2002. There were a total number of 44 participating athletes. The qualifying rounds were staged two days earlier, on August 7, with the mark set at 66.00 metres. On 8 March 2013, the IAAF announced that following retesting of samples taken at the championships, it had been found that Olga Kuzenkova of Russia had taken a banned substance. It was not announced whether this would mean an alteration in the medal result.
