The volleyball tournaments at the 2012 Olympic Games in London were played between 28 July and 12 August. The indoor volleyball competition took place at Earls Court Exhibition Centre, in west London, and the beach volleyball tournament was held at Horse Guards Parade in central London. 2010–12 Continental Beach Volleyball Cup
The 2010–12 Continental Beach Volleyball Cup (CBVC) is the qualification tournament for the beach volleyball tournament (for men and women) at the 2012 Summer Olympics. The CBVC will take place between 1 June 2010 and 24 June 2012, with a direct elimination competition format where the winning NOC/NF(s) moves on to the next phase. The competition will consist of three phases: Sub zone, Zone and Continental Final. The five winning NOCs/NFs (one per Continental Confederation territory (Asia/Oceania, North America, South America, Europe and Africa)) per gender will qualify. At the CBVC Final, NOCs/NFs which have already obtained two quota places will compete in a bracket separate from those NOCs/NFs still seeking a quota place(s). Yury Viktorovich Berezhko (russian: Юрий Викторович Бережко; born 27 January 1984) is a Russian volleyball player. He currently plays outside hitter for VC Zenit-Kazan. He is an Olympic gold medalist (2012), bronze medalist (2008), World Cup silver medalist and a silver medalist at the 2007 European Championship in Moscow, Russia, playing with the men's national team. Berezhko won Best server Award in 2009 European Championship. He won the award of Best Spiker in that occasion. Sergey Yuryevich Tetyukhin (russian: Серге́й Юрьевич Тетюхин; born 23 September 1975) is a former Russian volleyball player. He was born in Fergana, Uzbekistan. He is 1.97 m tall, and plays as passer-attacker. Together with Samuele Papi and Sérgio Santos (volleyball), Sérgio Santos he is one of only three male volleyball players who have accumulated four Olympic medals in the course of their long sporting careers. Tetyukhin, however, has the distinction of being the only volleyball player in the world (male or female) with four Olympic medals who has all three types of those awards, including gold at 2012 Summer Olympics, London Olympics. Sergey Yuryevich Grankin (russian: Сергей Юрьевич Гранкин; born 21 January 1985) is a Russian volleyball player, a former member of the Russian national team. 2012 Olympic Champion, two–time European Champion (2013, 2017), and a multiple World League medallist. At the professional club level, he plays for Fakel Novy Urengoy. Career Sergey Grankin started playing volleyball at the age of 7.
