Yury Berezhko
Yury Viktorovich Berezhko (russian: Юрий Викторович Бережко; born 27 January 1984) is a Russian volleyball player. He currently plays outside hitter for VC Zenit-Kazan. He is an Olympic gold medalist (2012), bronze medalist (2008), World Cup silver medalist and a silver medalist at the 2007 European Championship in Moscow, Russia, playing with the men's national team. Berezhko won Best server Award in 2009 European Championship. He won the award of Best Spiker in that occasion. In January, 2016 Yury Berezhko resumed performances for the Russian national team, helping the Russians qualify for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. 2007 FIVB Men's World Cup
The 2007 FIVB Men's World Cup was held from 18 November to 2 December 2007 in Japan. The tournament was the first step in the qualification process for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. The top three teams qualified for the Olympics, and joined China as they had already secured a berth as the host country. The men's tournament in volleyball at the 2012 Summer Olympics was the 13th edition of the event at the Summer Olympics, organised by the world's governing body, the FIVB, in conjunction with the IOC. It was held in London, United Kingdom from 29 July to 12 August 2012. Russia won the gold medal in a 3–2 victory against Brazil. 2017 Men's European Volleyball Championship
The 2017 Men's European Volleyball Championship was the 30th edition of the Men's European Volleyball Championship, organised by Europe's governing volleyball body, the CEV. The tournament was held in Poland between 24 August and 3 September. Russia defeated Germany in the final to capture a record 14th title in the tournament. Serbia defeated Belgium for the bronze medal. Maxim Mikhaylov from Russia was elected the MVP. Men's European Volleyball Championship
The Men's European Volleyball Championship (''EuroVolley'') is the official competition for senior men's national volleyball teams of Europe, organized by the European Volleyball Confederation ( CEV). The initial gap between championships was variable, but since 1975 they have been awarded every two years. The current champion is Italy, which won its seventh title at the 2021 tournament. History The first tournament was held in 1948 with participation of six national teams. Being only participant from Eastern Europe, Czechoslovakia captured gold. The teams from Eastern Europe dominated at the tournament for next four decades.
