The World Futsal Association (AMF) is the governing body of futsal (football of salon 'futsalon'' in Spanish fútbol de salón 'microfutbol'' for both fully and non-independent states or regions, headquartered in Asuncion, Paraguay. Futsal Pictogram
Futsal is a football-based game played on a hard court smaller than a football pitch, and mainly indoors. It has similarities to five-a-side football and indoor football. Futsal is played between two teams of five players each, one of whom is the goalkeeper. Unlimited substitutions are permitted. Unlike some other forms of indoor soccer, it is played on a hard court surface marked by lines; walls or boards are not used. It is played with a smaller, harder, lower-bounce ball than football. The surface, ball and rules favour ball control and passing in small spaces. The game emphasizes control, improvisation, creativity and technique. The Confederation of North, Central American and the Caribbean Futsal (CONCACFUTSAL)0 is the governing body of futsal for countries and regions under the Asociación Mundial de Futsal (AMF). History CONCACFUTSAL was founded on October 13, 2000 with professor Lorenzo Garcia of Mexico named its first president. Garcia served until 2006 when his vice president Wildrido Coffi was elected as leader. Coffi was re-elected at the III. Congress of CONCACFUTSAL in October 2011.
