Anton Jaich
Anton Jaich (also Peter Anton Jaich, Jaisch, or Taich) (1804, Vienna – 1875, Brno) was a Czech painter specialising in theatrical painting and set design. Jaich's career took him first to Graz (1836–1838), then a short period in Linz (1839), before moving on to Olomouc (1840) and then back to Graz (1842–1845). There he had stable employment working for the Estates Theatre in Prague from 1846 to 1861 where he was also in charge of lighting. He returned to Linz in 1868 where he stayed until 1872. He moved to Brno in 1873 where he was also the theatrical engineer. Family He had five children: Floriana Jaichová, Wilhelmina Kautská (Jaichová), Louisa Jaichová, Viktor Jaich, and Anton Jaich. Set Design
Scenic design (also known as scenography, stage design, or set design) is the creation of theatrical, as well as film or television scenery. Scenic designers come from a variety of artistic backgrounds, but in recent years, are mostly trained professionals, holding B.F.A. or M.F.A. degrees in theatre arts. The Estates Theatre or Stavovské divadlo is a historic theater in Prague, Czech Republic. The Estates Theatre was annexed to the National Theatre in 1948 and currently draws on three artistic ensembles, opera, ballet, and drama, which perform at the Estates Theatre, the National Theatre, and the (separate building, Kolowrat Palace). Minna Kautsky
Minna Kautsky, born Wilhelmine Jaich (11 June 1837, Graz - 20 December 1912, Berlin) was a Czech-Austrian actress and novelist who was strongly influenced by socialism and the women's movement. She often wrote under the pseudonyms "Eckert" and "Wilhelm Wiener". Biography Her father, Anton Jaich, was a scenic designer. After 1845, the family lived in Prague. She occasionally appeared as an actress at the Niklastheater in Vienna and the in Graz. In 1854, she married Johann Kautsky, a landscape painter and set designer. They had a daughter and three sons, including Karl Kautsky, who would become a famous Marxist theoretician. Johann Baptist Wenzel Kautsky (or Jan Václav Kautský; 14 September 1827, Prague – 4 September 1896, Sankt Gilgen) was a Czech scenic designer, landscape painter and co-owner of "Brioschi, Burghart und Kautsky", a stage decorating company in Vienna. Karl Johann Kautsky (; ; 16 October 1854 – 17 October 1938) was a Czech-Austrian philosopher, journalist, and Marxist theorist.
