Alana King
Alana Maria King (born 22 November 1995) is an Australian international cricketer. She also plays domestic cricket for Western Australia in the Women's National Cricket League (WNCL) and the Perth Scorchers in the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL). An all-rounder, she bowls right-arm leg spin and bats right-handed. She previously played for Victoria and Melbourne Stars. Early life King was born in Clarinda, a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria. She is of Anglo-Indian descent, her parents both having emigrated from Chennai (the capital of Tamil Nadu, India) to Melbourne. King followed her brother's footsteps by pursuing an interest in cricket after trying out different sports such as tennis, softball and baseball. The Western Australia Women cricket team, previously known as Western Fury, is the women's representative cricket team for the Australian State of Western Australia. 2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup
The 2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup is scheduled to be the eighth edition of ICC Women's T20 World Cup tournament. It is scheduled to be held in South Africa, from 10 to 26 February 2023. Australia are the defending champions. In November 2020, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced that the tournament had been moved from its original slot at the end of 2022 to February 2023 due to the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams of nine players each, taking turns batting and fielding. Leg Spin
Leg spin is a type of spin bowling in cricket. A leg spinner bowls right-arm with a wrist spin action. The leg spinner's normal delivery causes the ball to spin from right to left (from the bowler's perspective) when the ball bounces on the pitch. For a right-handed batsman, that is away from the leg side, and this is where it gets the name leg break. Leg spinners bowl mostly leg breaks, varying them by adjusting the line and length, and amount of side spin versus topspin of the deliveries. Leg spinners also typically use variations of flight by sometimes looping the ball in the air, allowing any cross-breeze and the aerodynamic effects of the spinning ball to cause the ball to dip and drift before bouncing and spinning or "turning", sharply. All-rounder
An all-rounder is a cricketer who regularly performs well at both batting and bowling. Although all bowlers must bat and quite a handful of batsmen do bowl occasionally, most players are skilled in only one of the two disciplines and are considered specialists. Some wicket-keepers have the skills of a specialist batter and have been referred to as all-rounders, but the term ''wicket-keeper-batter'' is more commonly applied to them, even if they are substitute wicket keepers who also bowl.
