Abdisalam Bashiir Abdisalam ( so, Cabdisalaan Bashiir Cabdisalaan, ar, عبدالسلام بشير عبدالسلام) is a Somali Swedish politician. He is the incumbent Mayor of Bosaso, the commercial and cultural capital of the autonomous Puntland region in northeastern Somalia. On September 6, 2018 District local Council unanimously voted in the favour of Abdisalam to lead the city over five years ahead. He was previously Mayor for Waiye District Puntland. Bosaso ( so, Boosaaso, ar, بوصاصو), historically known as Bender Cassim is a city in the northeastern Bari province ('' gobol'') of Somalia. It is the seat of the Bosaso District. Located on the southern coast of the Gulf of Aden, the municipality serves as the region's commercial capital and is a major seaport within the autonomous Puntland state. It has an estimated population of around 164,906 residents (2005 est.). Waiye ( so, Waaciye) is a town in the Bari province of the autonomous Puntland region in northeastern Somalia. Waiye was proposed as a district by the Somali government in 1990, but because the town didn't go through the entire process, its designation as a district was pending. Harti ( so, Harti, ar, هرتي), meaning "strong man", is a Somali clan family that is part of the Darod clan. The major sub-clans include the Majeerteen, Dhulbahante, Warsangali, Tinle, Maganlabe and Dishiishe, while other minor sub-clans consist of Kaskiqabe, Geesaguule and Liibaangashe.
