2022 Tipperary County Hurling Team Season
The 2022 season was Colm Bonnar's first year as manager of the Tipperary senior hurling team, having been appointed on 8 September 2021 for three years. Liam Sheedy had stepped down in August 2021 as manager after three years in charge. The team had a new sponsor after Teneo's three-year deal came to an end. On 21 January, Tipperary GAA announced a two-year sponsorship deal with financial services technology solutions company Fiserv. On 5 February, Ronan Maher was named as the new captain of the team. The decision was made by a secret ballot vote from all members of the panel. On 13 July, the Tipperary management committee relieved Colm Bonnar from his duties as Tipperary senior hurling manager after one year in charge. Tipperary County Hurling Team
The Tipperary county hurling team represents Tipperary in hurling and is governed by Tipperary GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The team competes in the three major annual inter-county competitions; the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, the Munster Senior Hurling Championship and the National Hurling League. Tipperary's home ground is Semple Stadium, Thurles. The team's manager is Liam Cahill. The team last won the Munster Senior Championship in 2016, the All-Ireland Senior Championship in 2019 and the National League in 2008. Pádraic Maher (born 9 February 1989) is an Irish former Hurling, hurler who previously played for Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship, Tipperary Senior Championship club Thurles Sarsfields GAA, Thurles Sarsfields and at inter-county level with the Tipperary senior hurling team. He usually lined out as a centre-back. Playing career Thurles CBS Maher first came to prominence as a hurler with Thurles CBS. Dillon Quirke
Dillon Quirke (28 February 1998 – 5 August 2022) was an Irish hurler who played for Tipperary Senior Championship club Clonoulty–Rossmore and at inter-county level with the Tipperary senior hurling team. Early life Born and raised in Rossmore, County Tipperary, Quirke's father, Dan Quirke, won an All-Ireland medal at under-21 level in All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship. He first played as a schoolboy in various juvenile competitions at Rossmore National School before later lining out as a student at Thurles CBS. Barry Heffernan (born 26 August 1995) is an Irish hurler who plays for Tipperary Senior Championship club Nenagh Éire Óg and at inter-county level with the Tipperary senior hurling team.
