Dillon Quirke
Dillon Quirke (28 February 1998 – 5 August 2022) was an Irish hurler who played for Tipperary Senior Championship club Clonoulty–Rossmore and at inter-county level with the Tipperary senior hurling team. Early life Born and raised in Rossmore, County Tipperary, Quirke's father, Dan Quirke, won an All-Ireland medal at under-21 level in All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship. He first played as a schoolboy in various juvenile competitions at Rossmore National School before later lining out as a student at Thurles CBS. Quirke lined out in all grades and was a member of the Thurles CBS senior team that beat St. Francis' College to win the Harty Cup in 2015, before losing the subsequent All-Ireland final to St. Kieran's College. Rossmore () is a small village and townland in County Tipperary in Ireland. It is in the civil parish of Clonoulty, barony of Kilnamanagh Lower. It is located in the electoral division (ED) of Clonoulty West. It is also half of the Clonoulty and Rossmore parish in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cashel and Emly. Geographic location Rossmore is administered by Tipperary County Council, and lies within the boundaries of Tipperary constituency for the purposes of Irish general elections. 2022 Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship
The 2022 Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship was the 132nd staging of the Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Tipperary County Board in 1887. The defending champions were Loughmore–Castleiney, who were defeated by Drom & Inch at the quarter-final stage. The competition was overshadowed by the death of Clonoulty–Rossmore hurler Dillon Quirke, who collapsed after 28 minutes of play in a game against Kilruane at Semple Stadium on Friday evening, 5 August 2022. The game was abandoned and other matches were immediately called off. On 30 October, Kilruane MacDonaghs defeated Kiladangan 2–20 to 1–16 in the final after a replay to win their first title since 1985. 2022 Tipperary County Hurling Team Season
The 2022 season was Colm Bonnar's first year as manager of the Tipperary senior hurling team, having been appointed on 8 September 2021 for three years. Liam Sheedy had stepped down in August 2021 as manager after three years in charge. The team had a new sponsor after Teneo's three-year deal came to an end. On 21 January, Tipperary GAA announced a two-year sponsorship deal with financial services technology solutions company Fiserv. On 5 February, Ronan Maher was named as the new captain of the team. The 2022 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 135th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county hurling tournament, since its establishment in 1887. The provincial fixtures were released on 27 November 2021. The championship began on 16 April 2022 and ended on 17 July 2022. Limerick entered the championship as defending champions having won the previous two championships. Westmeath, having won the 2021 Joe McDonagh Cup, returned to the Leinster Championship for the first time since the 2017 competition. Jason Forde
Jason Forde (born 22 December 1993) is an Irish hurler who plays for Tipperary senior Championship club Silvermines and at inter-county level with the Tipperary senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a left corner-forward. Playing career Nenagh CBS On 25 February 2012, Forde lined out at centre-forward when Nengh CBS faced Coláiste na nDéise in the Harty Cup final. He top scored for Nenagh with 1-04, however, he ended on the losing side following a 2–14 to 1–10 defeat. The 2020 National Hurling League was the 89th season of the National Hurling League for county teams. Division 1 was restructured in 2020 into two groups of approximately equal strength. The league was originally scheduled to end on 29 March 2020. The 2018 All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship was the 55th and last staging of the All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1964. The championship began on 7 May 2018 and ended on 26 August 2018. Limerick were the defending champions, however, they were defeated by Tipperary in the Munster semi-final. All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship
The GAA Hurling All-Ireland Minor Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Electric Ireland GAA Hurling All-Ireland Minor Championship) is an annual inter-county hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA).
