John Meagher (hurler)
John Meagher (born 26 August 1995) is an Irish sportsperson. He plays hurling with his local club Loughmore–Castleiney and with the Tipperary senior inter-county team since 2015. Career Meagher was named in the Tipperary squad for the 2015 National Hurling League and made his league debut on 22 February against Galway when he came on as a late substitute. Loughmore–Castleiney GAA
Loughmore–Castleiney GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in County Tipperary, Ireland. The club competes in the Mid-Tipperary division of Tipperary GAA, and draws its players and support from the parish of the same name. The area comprises the villages of Loughmore and Castleiney with their surrounding hinterland. History Loughmore–Castleiney has traditionally been a Gaelic football club but also has a successful hurling team, making it one of the very few dual clubs at senior level in County Tipperary. Early Years (1884-1940) Although Loughmore–Castleiney GAA club didn’t really become an entity until the forties, Gaelic games flourished in the parish since the founding of Cumann Luthchleas Gael in 1884. The Munster Senior Football Championship, known simply as the Munster Championship and shortened to Munster SFC, is an annual inter-county Gaelic football competition organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). Munster Minor Football Championship
The Munster Minor Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football competition organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1928 for the youngest competitors (under-18) in the province of Munster in Ireland. It is currently sponsored by Electric Ireland and therefore officially known as the Electric Ireland Munster GAA Football Minor Championship. The series of games are played during the summer months with the Munster final currently being played on the second Sunday in July. The minor final provides the curtain-raiser to the senior final. The 2011 All-Ireland Minor Football Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the ESB Minor Football Championship) was the premier "knockout" competition for under-18 competitors of the game of Gaelic football played in Ireland. The games were organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association. The 2011 series of games kicked off on the 13 April with the majority of the games played during the summer months. The All-Ireland Minor Football Final took place on the 18 September in Croke Park, Dublin, preceding the All-Ireland Senior Football Final. The 2016 Tipperary Senior Football Championship was the 126th edition of the Tipperary GAA's premier club Gaelic football tournament for senior graded teams in County Tipperary, Ireland. 2014 Tipperary Senior Football Championship
The 2014 Tipperary Senior Football Championship began in the summer of 2014. Loughmore-Castleiney were the defending champions after winning their 12th title in 2013. The final in front of a crowd of 1,550 between Loughmore Castleiney and Cahir which was played on 21 December in Cashel and finished in a draw with the replay fixed for 26 December. Cian Hennessy's scored the equalising point for Loughmore in the final minute after Benny Hickey had scored from a free in the 54th minute to put Cahir in front. Cahir had led 1-6 to 2-2 at half time. Loughmore Castleiney defeated Cahir by 0-9 to 2-2 in the replay on 26 December.
