2017–18 NBB Cup
The 2017–18 NBB Cup ( nl, 2017–18 NBB-Beker) was the 50th edition of the Netherlands' national basketball cup tournament. Donar (basketball club), Donar was the defending champion. Donar successfully defended its title, after beating runners-up ZZ Leiden in the Final. The Final was played on 25 March 2018 in MartiniPlaza in Groningen. Format In the first, second and third round teams from the Dutch second, third and fourth division participate. From the fourth round, teams from the Dutch Basketball League (DBL) enter the competition. Quarter- and semi-finals are played in a two-legged format. When a team form a tier lower than the DBL played a DBL team, one win is sufficient for the latter to advance to the next round. Carrington Love (born January 6, 1994) is an American professional basketball player who last played for British Basketball League (BBL) club Leicester Riders. Love played college basketball for Green Bay from 2012 until 2016. Professional career On August 16, 2016, Love signed with Kirchheim Knights of the German second division ProA. Love reached the semi-finals of the promotion play-offs with Kirchheim, where the team was defeated 3–0 by top seeded Mitteldeutscher BC. Worthy De Jong
Worthy Donovan Rafael de Jong (born 14 March 1988) is a Dutch 3x3 basketball player and former professional 5x5 player. Standing at 6 ft 4.3 in (1.94 m), De Jong plays the shooting guard or the small forward position. He played 13 seasons as a professional player in the Netherlands, of which 11 were with ZZ Leiden. He is Leiden's all-time leader in points, rebounds and assists, and is nicknamed "Mister ZZ Leiden". With Leiden, he won three Dutch championships and two Dutch Cups. Vijf Meihal
The Vijf Meihal ( en, 5 May Hall) is a complex located in the Dutch city of Leiden. It has been used as a sports arena since 1968. In 2006 it became the home of Zorg en Zekerheid Leiden, a Dutch professional basketball team. Until 2010 the Vijf Meihal had a capacity of 700 people. This was expanded to 2,000 people in 2010. Topsportcentrum Almere
The Topsportcentrum is an indoor sports arena, located in Almere, Netherlands. Designed by architectural studio ZJA, it opened on the 7th of October in 2007. Donar, also known as Donar Groningen, is a professional basketball club based in Groningen, Netherlands. Landstede Hammers is a Dutch basketball club based in Zwolle. The club plays in the BNXT League, the Dutch top tier division. The club was founded as Cees Lubbers The Hammers in 1995. In 1999, the club’s name was changed into Landstede Hammers. Almere Pioneers is a Dutch amateur basketball team based in Almere. The team plays in the Promotiedivisie, the Dutch second tier league. History The club was founded in 1999 as a professional basketball club named BC Omniworld Almere and participated in the top-tier Eredivisie.
