2016 F4 Chinese Championship
The 2016 F4 Chinese Championship season (Shell Cup FIA F4 Chinese Championship) was the second season of the F4 Chinese Championship. It began on 23 April at the Zhuhai International Circuit and finished on 6 November at the Guangdong International Circuit after five triple-header rounds, all of them co-hosted with the China Formula Grand Prix championship. Teams and drivers Race calendar and results A five–round provisional calendar was revealed on 31 December 2015. All rounds were held in China and, as opposed to the previous season, was not be spread over two years. The calendar was slightly revised on 10 March. A later update changed the venue of the season finale from Guangdong to Zhuhai. F4 Chinese Championship
F4 Chinese Championship () is a racing series regulated according to FIA Formula 4. The inaugural season was the 2015–16 edition. History Gerhard Berger and the FIA Singleseater Commission launched the FIA Formula 4 in March 2013. The goal of Formula 4 is to make the ladder to Formula 1 more transparent. It involves sporting and technical regulations and regulates costs. Cars competing in this category are not allowed to cost more than €30,000. A single season in a Formula 4 may not exceed €100,000. The Spanish F4 is planned to be the one of the second phase Formula 4 championships. The first phase championships was the Italian F4 Championship and the Formula 4 Sudamericana, which started in 2014. The Shanghai International Circuit () is a motorsport race track, situated in the Jiading District, Shanghai. The circuit is best known as the venue for the annual Chinese Grand Prix which was hosted from 2004 to 2019 and was scheduled again from 2024 onwards, but its race was cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic. Chengdu Goldenport Circuit () also known as Chengdu International Circuit in English, was a permanent circuit in Shi Sheng Road, Jin Jiang, 610023 Chengdu, People's Republic of China.
