2010 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Season
The 2010 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series was the fourth racing season since the buy out of the CASCAR Super Series. Overview In 2010 many procedures in the series remained the same, with all of the races airing on The Sports Network, TSN, in tape-delayed one-hour segments excluding Montreal and the Toronto Indy. The Sports Network, TSN and RDS provided live coverage of the NAPA Autopro 100 from the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on Sunday, August 29 and July 25 from the streets of Toronto. Major changes to the series included former CASCAR champion Dave Whitlock and his team closing down leaving many looking for rides. Mark Dilley joined up with Scott Steckly to run full-time and Internet superstar Pierre Bourque (journalist), Pierre Bourque drove the 00 Aaron's Lucky Dog car full-time. CASCAR Super Series
The CASCAR Super Series was Canada's premier stock car touring division. It was sanctioned by CASCAR. The series ended after the 2006 season after NASCAR purchased CASCAR, and NASCAR used it as the basis for the NASCAR Pinty's Series. General Tire served as the series' title sponsor from 1988 to 1990, followed by Budweiser from 1993 to 1993. Jason Hathaway
Jason Hathaway (born November 22, 1976) is a Canadian professional stock car racing driver. He formerly competed in the NASCAR Pinty's Series, driving Team 3 Red Racing's No. 3 Chevrolet entry, and is the 2020 champion of the series. Racing career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series In 2017, Hathaway made his Truck Series debut at Mosport, driving the No. 66 Chevrolet Silverado for Bolen Motorsports. He started 22nd and finished 15th. Hathaway returned to the series for the Phoenix race. He drove the No. 15 Chevrolet Silverado for Premium Motorsports instead, and finished 11th after starting 23rd. Saint-Eustache, Quebec
Saint-Eustache () is an off-island suburb of Montreal, in western Quebec, Canada, west of Montreal on the north shore of the Rivière des Mille Îles. It is located northwest of Montreal. History The city was founded in 1770 and was incorporated in 1835. It has a famous church, Saint-Eustache church, which was built between 1780 and 1783. Delaware, Ontario is a community located about west of and outside of London, Ontario, within Middlesex County. Delaware straddles the Thames River. Bowmanville is a town of approximately 40,000 people located in the Municipality of Clarington, Ontario, Clarington, Regional Municipality of Durham, Durham Region, Ontario, Canada. Peter Shepherd (racing Driver)
Peter Shepherd III (born August 13, 1986) is a Canadian professional stock car racing driver. He is currently racing in the NASCAR Pinty's Series for Dave Jacombs Racing and in the APC Series in the #22 APC/Total Race Car]. Racing career Shepherd started in Kart racing, go-karts and moved on to the Thunder Car division at Flamboro Speedway. He progressed from there to Late Model running in the ALSTAR Series and then into Super Late Models with OSCAAR. Shepherd eventually worked his way into Canada's top series CASCAR running a season and a half winning races along the way as well as Rookie of the year. His prowess drew the attention of NASCAR owner Jack Roush, who invited him to '' Roush Racing: Driver X'', the audition that was held in 2005 and televised on the Discovery Channel. Kawartha Speedway
Kawartha Speedway is a 3/8 mile paved oval located in Fraserville, Ontario, approximately 10 km southwest of Peterborough. The paved track is within the harness racing track, temporary grandstands are brought onto the harness racing tracks surface. In 2006, Kawartha Speedway held the final CASCAR Super Series race before it became the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series in 2007. Since 2004, Kawartha was the host of the CASCAR Super Series finale. Kawartha Speedway held the finale of the inaugural NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Season which was won by Scott Steckly. The following year, Jason Hathaway picked up his first ever win, and in 2009 D. Barrie Speedway
Barrie Speedway was a 1/3-mile tri-oval racing track located in Oro-Medonte, Ontario, Canada, north of Barrie. It was a member of CASCAR Super Series between 1989 and 1995, the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series for the Ontario Provincial and National (Continental) championships between 2007 and 2014, and also hosted a NASCAR Canadian Tire Series 10 races between 2007 and 2014. Jason Bowles (born November 24, 1982) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He won the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West championship in 2009. Racing career Early career He made his NASCAR West Series debut in the No. 22 Sunrise Ford/Turbo Torq Ford in 2007, posting two wins – one at California Speedway and the other at Miller Motorsports Park – on his way to becoming Rookie of the Year.
