1922 United States Senate Elections
The 1922 United States Senate elections were elections that occurred in the middle of Republican President Warren G. Harding's term. With the Republicans divided between conservative and progressive factions, the Democrats gained six net seats from the Republicans while the Farmer–Labor party gained one. The Republicans retained their Senate majority. Gains and losses Republicans gained two seats, defeating incumbent Democrats Gilbert M. Hitchcock (Nebraska) and Atlee Pomerene (Ohio). United States Senate
The United States Senate is the upper chamber of the United States Congress, with the House of Representatives being the lower chamber. Together they compose the national bicameral legislature of the United States. The composition and powers of the Senate are established by Article One of the United States Constitution.
