Ian Banbury
Ian A. Banbury (born 27 November 1957) was a British cyclist. He won the bronze medal in the team pursuit at the 1976 Montreal Games. He raced as an amateur for the Hemel Hempstead cycling club and as a professional for a number of British-based teams, including Holdsworth-Campagnolo, MAN Trucks, and Moore Large. He competed on the road and the track, particularly in the individual and team pursuit events. Hugh Cameron is a champion racing cyclist, having won the madison at the British National Track Championships in three consecutive years with Paul Curran. He first became interested in cycling as a schoolboy, it was at Grangefield Grammar School, Stockton-on-Tees in 1968 that he set up a cycling club along with Brian Cossavella. The British National Madison Championships were held annually as part of the British National Track Championships organised by British Cycling, originally with two separate championship events for amateur and professional riders previously. The senior championships are now held as a stand-alone event, most recently in December 2016.
