ﾄ経noplja () is a village in Serbia. It is situated in the Sombor municipality, in the West Baﾄ耕a District, Vojvodina province. The village has a Serb ethnic majority and its population numbering 4,359 people (2002 census). Name In Serbian, the village is known as ''ﾄ経noplja'' (ﾐｧﾐｾﾐｽﾐｾﾐｿﾑ厰ｰ), in German as ''Tschonopel'', in Croatian as ''ﾄ経noplja'', in Bunjevac as ''ﾄ経noplja'', and in Hungarian as ''Csonoplya''. History The oldest relics found at this location are dated back to the late Stone Age. Relics from the 7th and 8th centuries were also found, but they give no exact indication as to the tribes who lived there. The village was first mentioned in the 14th century as ''Conoklija'', during the administration of the medieval Kingdom of Hungary. During the Ottoman administration (16th-17th century), the village of ﾄ経noplja was populated by ethnic Serbs. In 1590, the village had 28 households. Croatian Language
Croatian (; ' ) is the standardized variety of the Serbo-Croatian pluricentric language used by Croats, principally in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Serbian province of Vojvodina, and other neighboring countries. Bunjevci
Bunjevci ( sh-Latn-Cyrl, separator=" / ", Bunjevci, ﾐ帯τ墟ｵﾐｲﾑﾐｸ, ; sh-Latn-Cyrl, label=, separator=" / ", Bunjevac, ﾐ帯τ墟ｵﾐｲﾐｰﾑ, sh-Latn-Cyrl, label=, separator=" / ", Bunjevka, ﾐ帯τ墟ｵﾐｲﾐｺﾐｰ) are a South Slavic sub-ethnic group living mostly in the Baﾄ耕a region of northern Serbia and southern Hungary ( Bﾃ｡cs-Kiskun County), particularly in Baja and surroundings, in Croatia (e.g. Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, Lika-Senj County, Slavonia, Split-Dalmatia County, Vukovar-Srijem County), and in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Serbs
