Tourism in Brunei is governed by the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism, which is planning to diversify Brunei's tourism to include adventure tourism, ecotourism and Islamic tourism. Overview The Brunei dollar is one of strongest currencies in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region, a factor discouraging tourists in the region from visiting Brunei. One Brunei dollar is equal to around 10,740 Indonesian rupiah, 3.10 Malaysian ringgit, 36.2 Philippine peso and 23.6 Thai baht. Ulu Temburong National Park
Ulu Temburong National Park is the first national park to be established in Brunei, protected since 1991. The park is in Temburong District in eastern Brunei, and covers about 40% of the district in the south at . It is within the Batu Apoi Forest Reserve. The park contains unspoiled jungle and is known as the "Green Jewel of Brunei", described as "the finest example of the sultanate's successful forest protection policy". Kampung Ayer (') is a prominent traditional settlement in Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei. It comprises neighbourhoods of traditional houses, schools and mosques built on stilts above the Brunei River near the capital's city centre. Jame'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque
The Jame' Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque () is a mosque in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei. It is named after Hassanal Bolkiah, the 29th Sultan of Brunei. It is one of the two state mosques (), the other Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque, and the largest of all. It is situated on the northern border of the Kampong Kiarong suburb, northwest of Pusat Bandar. The Malay Technology Museum () is a museum in Kota Batu of Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei. The museum's main objective is to present early Brunei's technical practices, which provide insight into the way of life of the country's inhabitants, who lived in both the water town and on dry ground. Jerudong Park
Jerudong Park is an amusement park in Jerudong, Brunei-Muara District, Brunei. It is the largest and most expensive amusement park in Southeast Asia, built and funded by the Bruneian government for $1 billion. The Park began in design in the early 1990s, designed by an Australian, Perth-based Architecture and Landscape design firm. The same firm designed the "Crystal Arch" or the colloquially referred "Diamond Roundabout" at the entry to Istana Nurul Izzah, near Kampung Jerudong. During its first few years of operation, the park was completely free, with no admission fees and free rides. In 2009, it was reported that the number of visitors and tourists had dropped significantly. The owners introduced a one-time B$15 admission fee and a ride ticketing system. The Istana Nurul Iman (Jawi script, Jawi: ايستان نور الإيمان; English language, English: The Light of Faith Palace) is the official residence of the Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah, and the seat of the Brunei government.
