2024–25 Detroit Red Wings Season
The 2024–25 Detroit Red Wings season was the 99th season for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise that was established on September 25, 1926. It was the Red Wings' eighth season at Little Caesars Arena. This was the Red Wings' third season under head coach Derek Lalonde, until he was fired and replaced by Todd McLellan on December 26, 2024. The Red Wings were eliminated from playoff contention for the ninth consecutive season on April 12, 2025, after the Montreal Canadiens lost in overtime to the Toronto Maple Leafs. This extended their longest playoff drought in franchise history. They finished the season with a 39–35–8 record. The Atlantic Division is a name used by the National Hockey League to describe a division of teams in the Eastern Conference (NHL), Eastern Conference. The original Atlantic Division, the predecessor of which was the Patrick Division, was formed in 1993 as part of the Eastern Conference in a league realignment. As part of a 2013 realignment, the entirety of the former Atlantic Division was realigned into the Metropolitan Division. The Detroit Red Wings are a professional ice hockey team based in Detroit. They are members of the Atlantic Division in the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL) and are one of the Original Six teams of the league. Jack Campbell (ice Hockey)
Jack Campbell (born January 9, 1992) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender for the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract to the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League (NHL). Prior to his professional career, Campbell played for the Windsor Spitfires and Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League. He was selected in the first round (11th overall) by the Dallas Stars in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft and made his NHL debut in 2013. The 2024–25 Buffalo Sabres season was the 55th season of play for the Sabres in the National Hockey League (NHL). It was the team's first season with Lindy Ruff back as head coach since 2012-13 Buffalo Sabres season, 2013. Alexander Augustus Lyon (born December 9, 1992) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender for the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League (NHL). He played collegiately for the Yale Bulldogs men's ice hockey team, competing in the ECAC. Early life Lyon was born on December 9, 1992, in Baudette, Minnesota. For the first seven years of his life, Lyon and his older sister Sam grew up on an island in Lake of the Woods, and he attended school for one year at a small schoolhouse. Ville Husso (born 6 February 1995) is a Finnish professional ice hockey goaltender for the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Playing career Husso started his career in the youth setup at HIFK in his hometown of Helsinki. He made his debut with the club's men's team during the 2013–14 Liiga season.
