2024–25 Chicago Blackhawks Season
The 2024–25 Chicago Blackhawks season was the List of Chicago Blackhawks seasons, 99th season (98th season of play) for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise that was established on September 25, 1926. On December 5, 2024, the Blackhawks fired Coach (ice hockey), head coach Luke Richardson and named Anders Sörensen, Anders Sorensen the interim head coach. On March 20, 2025, the Blackhawks were eliminated from playoff contention for the fifth straight season after a loss against the 2024–25 Los Angeles Kings season, Los Angeles Kings. Off-season Broadcasting change On June 3, 2024, The Blackhawks announced they would not renew their contract with NBC Sports Chicago and join the newly established Chicago Sports Network along with the Chicago Bulls and Chicago White Sox. Central Division (NHL)
The National Hockey League's Central Division was formed in 1993 as part of the Western Conference in a league realignment. Its predecessor was the Norris Division and its also one of two successors to the Northwest Division. The Chicago Blackhawks have been a member of the Central Division in all of its seasons since the original 1993 realignment. The Arizona Coyotes (as the original Winnipeg Jets), Dallas Stars and St. Louis Blues were also original members of the division, but were realigned to a different division for a while before returning; both the Coyotes and Stars were moved to the Pacific Division in 1998 (the Stars moved back to the Central in 2013, and the Coyotes followed in 2021), while the Blues were moved to the West Division during the temporary 2020–21 realignment. Ilya Andreyevich Mikheyev (; born 10 October 1994) is a Russian professional ice hockey right winger for the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League (NHL). He has previously played with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Vancouver Canucks of the NHL and Avangard Omsk of the Kontinental Hockey League. Early life Mikheyev was born in Omsk, Russia, in southwestern Siberia, to parents Andrey and Natalya. Andrey is a lawyer and law-school lecturer while Natalya is a director in a private company. Arvid Söderblom (born 19 August 1999) is a Swedish professional ice hockey goaltender for the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League (NHL). He previously played in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) for Frölunda HC and Skellefteå AIK. Playing career On 13 May 2021, Söderblom signed a two-year contract with the Chicago Blackhawks of the NHL. The 2024–25 Detroit Red Wings season was the 99th season for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise that was established on September 25, 1926. It was the Red Wings' eighth season at Little Caesars Arena. This was the Red Wings' third season under head coach Derek Lalonde, until he was fired and replaced by Todd McLellan on December 26, 2024. The Red Wings were eliminated from playoff contention for the ninth consecutive season on April 12, 2025, after the Montreal Canadiens lost in overtime to the Toronto Maple Leafs. The 2024–25 Los Angeles Kings season was their 58th season for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise that was established on June 5, 1967. Spencer Knight
Spencer Knight (born April 19, 2001) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender for the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League (NHL). The Florida Panthers selected him in the first round, 13th overall, of the 2019 NHL entry draft. Born and raised in Darien, Connecticut, Knight became a goaltender after watching Henrik Lundqvist play for the New York Rangers. He spent one year at Darien High School and another at Avon Old Farms before joining the USA Hockey National Team Development Program in 2018.
