Zest-O Corporation
Zest-O Corporation is a Philippine beverage company based in Caloocan. It was founded in 1980 as SEMEXCO Marketing Corporation by the businessman Alfredo M. Yao. History While touring Europe in 1979, Alfredo Yao learned about the Doypack packaging format in one of the European trade exhibits he visited. He bought one machine and tried to market the Doypack packaging format to juice drink manufacturers in the Philippines. When no company took interest, he decided to market his own brand of fruit juice drink. He put up a company called SEMEXCO Marketing Corporation and launched Zest-O orange juice drink in 1980. Alfredo M. Yao (born November 26, 1943) is a Filipino businessman who founded Zest-O,Macay Holdings, Inc. () and Philippine Business Bank (). He served as the Special Envoy to China for Tourism and Cooperation in 2009. After losing his father at age 12, Yao began working to support his family since his mother's earnings as a sidewalk vendor could not support their needs. Stand-up pouch is a type of flexible packaging which is able to stand erect on its bottom for display, storage, and use. It is a type of plastic bag but sometimes also has plastic bottle characteristics. Doypacks are commonly used for powders or ready-to-drink beverages.
