Yang Family Historical Residence
The Yang Family Historical Residence () is a former residence in Nanzih District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. History The Yang family originally came from Fujian during the reign of Kangxi Emperor of Qing Dynasty. The house was declared a historical building on 27 August 2002. Architecture The design of the house follows southern Fujian housing style with courtyard. It has three independent clusters. There is a lobby with two rooms on each side and two more rooms on the wings at the center of the building. Each outer wing on the left and right sides has five rooms. Transportation The house is accessible within walking distance west of Oil Refinery Elementary School Station of Kaohsiung MRT. Nanzih District, United States National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (also spelled Nanzi; ) is a district located in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. It was the northernmost district of Kaohsiung City until Kaohsiung County was merged into the municipality in 2010. Nanzih offers convenient access to transportation, including a train and bus station and an interchange on the Sun Yat-sen Freeway. Moreover, it also contains the Nanzih Industrial Zone. Fujian (; alternately romanized as Fukien or Hokkien) is a province on the southeastern coast of China. Kangxi Emperor
The Kangxi Emperor (4 May 1654– 20 December 1722), also known by his temple name Emperor Shengzu of Qing, born Xuanye, was the third emperor of the Qing dynasty, and the second Qing emperor to rule over China proper, reigning from 1661 to 1722. Taiwan Under Qing Rule
Taiwan under Qing rule refers to the rule of the Qing dynasty over the island of Taiwan from 1683 to 1895. The Qing dynasty sent an army led by general Shi Lang and defeated the Ming loyalist Kingdom of Tungning in 1683. Taiwan was formally annexed in April 1684. Taiwan was governed as Taiwan Prefecture of Fujian Province until the establishment of the Fujian–Taiwan Province in 1887. The Qing dynasty extended its control of Taiwan across the western coast of Taiwan, the western plains, and northeastern Taiwan over the 18th and 19th centuries. Kaohsiung Metro () is a rapid transit and light rail system covering the metropolitan area of Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Its rapid transit network is known as Kaohsiung Mass Rapid Transit or Kaohsiung MRT.
