Xu Gang (politician)
Xu Gang (; born December 1958) is a former Chinese official who spent most of his career in Fujian province. He was the vice Governor of Fujian since 2013. On March 20, 2015, Xu Gang was placed under investigation by the Communist Party's anti-corruption agency. He was the first high-ranking politician being examined from Fujian province after the 18th Party Congress in 2012. Career Xu Gang was born in Pucheng County, Fujian. In 1978, Xu Gang attended Fudan University and graduated in 1982. In 1997, he became vice-mayor of Putian until September 2000. In 2003, Xu became the director of Department of Transportation of Fujian. In 2005, he became the director of Economic and Trade Commission of Fujian. Fujian
Fujian (; alternately romanized as Fukien or Hokkien) is a province on the southeastern coast of China. Fujian is bordered by Zhejiang to the north, Jiangxi to the west, Guangdong to the south, and the Taiwan Strait to the east. Its capital is Fuzhou, while its largest city by population is Quanzhou, both located near the coast of the Taiwan Strait in the east of the province. While its population is predominantly of Chinese ethnicity, it is one of the most culturally and linguistically diverse provinces in China. Central Commission For Discipline Inspection
The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) is the highest internal control institution of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), tasked with enforcing internal rules and regulations and combating corruption and malfeasance in the party. Since the vast majority of officials at all levels of government are also Communist Party members, the commission is in practice the top anti-corruption body in China. The modern commission was established at the 3rd Plenary Session of the 11th Central Committee in December 1978. Control systems had existed previously under the name "Central Control Commission" for a brief period in 1927 and again between 1955 and 1968, and under its present name from 1949 to 1955. Putian or Putien (, Putian dialect: ''Pó-chéng''), also known as Puyang (莆阳) and Puxian (莆仙), historically known as Xinghua or Hing Hwa (), is a prefecture-level city in eastern Fujian province, China.
