Wynn Roberts (actor)
Wynn Roberts (born 1923/1924 – 24 August 2021) credited also as Wyn Roberts and Wynne Roberts, was an Australian radio, stage and screen actor who appeared in more than 70 film and television productions between the early 1950s and 2001. He appeared in numerous TV plays and also featured in TV miniseries over a career spanning 50 years. His television credits include ''Homicide'', ''Prisoner'', '' Special Squad'', ''Neighbours'', ''The Flying Doctors'', ''Police Rescue'', ''A Country Practice'' and '' Wildside''. He is also known for his role as Sergeant Bumpher in the 1975 film classic '' Picnic at Hanging Rock''. He was also a leading stage actor, starting from the late 1940s. He worked for a number of years in radio. A 1965 article called him "one of the best and most versatile actors left in Australia - probably the best in Melbourne". Tanja is a locality in the Bega Valley Shire of New South Wales, Australia. At the , Tanja had a population of 157. Tanja Public School is situated on Barrabooka Road. The school had an enrolment of 17 in 2017. It dates from 1878, having originally begun in a room of the school teacher's own residence. Tanja Post Office opened on 1 September 1878 and closed on 28 August 1980. ''Filmnews'' was a monthly newspaper that covered independent film production, distribution and exhibition in Australia and the federal and state government policies and practices that supported them. Produced in Sydney, it was distributed around Australia, containing news, reviews, interviews, articles and some gossip on the local film community. It ran from February 1975, from government startup grants over 1973–74, to 1995. History ''Filmnews'' first issue appeared in February 1975. Published in St Peters' Lane, Darlinghurst, Filmnews began as a newsletter with screening and meeting information and catalogue of the Sydney Filmmakers Co-op.
