West Point, Prince Edward Island
West Point is a cape and an unincorporated community located in the southwestern corner of Prince Edward Island, Canada. ''West Point Lighthouse'', a square tapered tower, was built in 1875 by the federal Department of Marine. The West Point Lighthouse Inn, Museum and Restaurant was established in 1984. The West Point Development Corporation, a non-profit organization, maintains the lighthouse as a navigational aid beacon, although the living quarters of the lighthouse are now used as a unique country inn and museum. This lighthouse was first lit on May 21, 1876. Cedar Dunes Provincial Park is located at West Point and provides a supervised public beach for swimming. Grand County, Utah
Grand County is a county on the east central edge of the U.S. state of Utah, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the population was 9,225. Its county seat and largest city is Moab. History Evidence of indigenous occupation up to 10,000BCE has been previously discovered in Grand County. The present city of Moab is the site of pueblo farming communities of the 11th and 12th centuries. These groups had already vanished from the area when the first European explorers entered the country, with nomadic Ute tribes inhabiting the area at the time of contact. Butch Cassidy's Wild Bunch was one of the loosely organized outlaw gangs operating out of the Hole-in-the-Wall, near Kaycee in Wyoming, a natural fortress with caves, with a narrow entrance that was constantly guarded. In the beginning, the gang was referred to as the "Hole in the Wall Gang" during the Old West era in the United States. It was popularized by the 1969 movie, ''Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid'', and took its name from the original Wild Bunch. The gang was led by Butch Cassidy, and it included his closest friend Elzy Lay, the Sundance Kid, Tall Texan, News Carver, Camilla "Deaf Charley" Hanks, Laura Bullion, Flat-Nose Curry, Kid Curry, and Bob Meeks. George Curry (Wild Bunch)
George Sutherland Currie (March 20, 1871 – April 17, 1900), also known as George "Flat-Nose" Curry, was a Canadian- American robber of the American Old West. Curry was a mentor to Harvey Logan, who would adopt the surname Curry, and the two robbed banks together before both became members of Butch Cassidy's Wild Bunch. Curry was killed by a sheriff while rustling in Grand County, Utah. Early outlaw career Currie was born in West Point, Prince Edward Island, Canada in 1871, the second of six children of John and Nancy Ann (Macdonald) Currie. West Cape is a cape and an unincorporated community located at the westernmost extremity of Prince Edward Island, Canada. West Cape is the westernmost point of Prince Edward Island, as opposed to West Point, which lies several kilometres to the south and slightly east. West Cape Wind Farm The largest wind farm in Atlantic Canada is centered in West Cape, extending north to Point Wolfe and south to West Point, for a distance of approximately 10 kilometers. Encompassing an area of about 25 square kilometers, the wind farm consists of 55 turbines producing 99 megawatts of power, surpassing the Kent Hills Wind Farm in New Brunswick by 3 megawatts.
