Waterhen 130 is an Indian reserve of the Waterhen Lake First Nation in Saskatchewan. It is about north of the community of Meadow Lake on Waterhen Lake. In the 2016 Canadian Census, it recorded a population of 672 living in 196 of its 213 total private dwellings. In the same year, its Community Well-Being index was calculated at 51 of 100, compared to 58.4 for the average First Nations community and 77.5 for the average non-Indigenous community. In Canada, an Indian reserve (french: réserve indienne) is specified by the '' Indian Act'' as a "tract of land, the legal title to which is vested in Her Majesty, that has been set apart by Her Majesty for the use and benefit of a band." Waterhen Lake First Nation
Waterhen Lake First Nation ( cr, ᓯᐦᑭᐦᑊ ᓵᑲᐦᐃᑲᓂᕽ ''sihkihp sâkahikanihk'') is a Cree First Nation band government located in northwestern Saskatchewan, Canada. As of October 2018 the total membership of the Waterhen Lake First Nation was 2,053. There were 983 members living on reserve, 2 on Crown Land and 1,068 members living off reserve. The First Nation is a member of the MLTC Program Services, a regional tribal Chiefs' Council. The First Nation is also a signatory to the Adhesion to Treaty 6 in 1921. Meadow Lake is a city in the boreal forest of northwestern Saskatchewan, Canada. Its location is about northeast of Lloydminster and north of North Battleford. Founded as a trading post in 1799, it became a village in 1931 and a town in 1936. On November 9, 2009, it officially became Saskatchewan's 14th city. Waterhen Lake is a lake in Meadow Lake Provincial Park in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan, located about north of the city of Meadow Lake. The lake is situated along the course of the Waterhen River in the boreal forest ecozone of Canada. At just over 10,000 hectares in size, it is the second largest lake at least partially within Meadow Lake Provincial Park–the largest being Cold Lake at the far western end of the park. The 2016 Canadian census was an enumeration of Canadian residents, which counted a population of 35,151,728, a change from its 2011 population of 33,476,688.
