Wah Yan College Cats
Wah Yan College Cats is a non-profit organization in Wah Yan College, Hong Kong which aims at looking after homeless cats which appeared in the campus of the college. It is the first to adopt the concept of college cats in Hong Kong. The teacher adviser is Ivy Ip Li Lan-Hing. The slogan of the organization is "Respect & Protect Life". Work The students in the organization are responsible for looking after the cats every day. Since establishment, the organization has taken care of about 40 cats. Apart from daily duties, the organization also promotes the message of protecting animals, and periodically writes articles for a cat magazine. Wah Yan College, Hong Kong
Wah Yan College, Hong Kong also referred to by its acronym WYHK is a private Catholic all-boys grant-in-aid secondary education institution run by the China Province of the Society of Jesus in Wan Chai, Hong Kong. It was founded by on 16 December 1919. It was a non-sectarian school when it was founded, and the Jesuits took over the operation of the school in 1932. Subsidised by the Government of Hong Kong, WYCHK is a grammar school using English as the medium of instruction (except Chinese and Chinese History). There are around 60 teachers and 800 students. It is a sister school of Wah Yan College, Kowloon. The school has an enrolment of approximately 800 students with 60 teachers and a few Irish Jesuit fathers. The supervisor of the school is Rev. Fr. Quality Education Fund
The Quality Education Fund (; 2 January 1998 – ) is a fund in Hong Kong set up for promoting education reform. It was suggested by Tung Chee-hwa, former Chief Executive of Hong Kong, in his first policy address in October 1997. It is used for funding various quality education programmes in Hong Kong. After the fund was set up, it obtained five billion HKD from the Government of Hong Kong to support its long-term operation. Initially, the full amount of requested funding will be allocated to the applicants, but now the fund is a matching fund. Statistics In the first eight rounds of allocation, 15,089 applications were received. 5,802 applications were successful, with a total of thirty-one billion HKD allocated.
