Vălcani
Vălcani (often spelled Valcani; hu, Valkány; german: Walkan; sr, Валкањ, Valkanj) is a communes of Romania, commune in Timiș County, Romania. It is composed of a single village, Vălcani. An independent commune from 1877 to 1968, it was a village of Dudeștii Vechi commune from that year until 2005, when it again became independent. Geography Vălcani is located in the west of Timiș County, in the Aranca Plain, on the border with Serbia. It is comprised between Dudeștii Vechi commune in the east and north and Teremia Mare commune in the south. It is located 82 km from Timișoara and about 20 km from Sânnicolau Mare, the nearest town. The surface hydrographic network is represented by the Aranca River and the older branches of the Mureș River, Mureșan and Țiganca streams. Dudeștii Vechi
Dudeștii Vechi (until 1964 Beșenova Veche; hu, Óbesenyő; german: Altbeschenowa; Banat Bulgarian: ''Stár Bišnov''; sr, Старо Бешеново, Staro Bešenovo) is a commune in Timiș County, Romania. It is composed of three villages: Cheglevici ( hu, Keglevichháza; german: Keglewitschhausen; Banat Bulgarian: ''Téglivič''; sr, Кеглевић, Keglević), Colonia Bulgară ( hu, Bolgártelep; german: Bulgarische Kolonie; Banat Bulgarian: ''Telepa''; sr, Бугарска Колонија, Bugarska Kolonija) and Dudeștii Vechi. It also included Vălcani until 2005, when it was split off to form a separate commune. Dudeștii Vechi is mostly populated by Banat Bulgarians (Palćene), a regional minority group of ethnic Bulgarians that profess Roman Catholicism, who came from northern Bulgaria, and who are descendants of Paulicians that settled in the area around 1738. Sânnicolau Mare
Sânnicolau Mare (; hu, Nagyszentmiklós; german: Großsanktnikolaus; sr, Велики Семиклуш, Veliki Semikluš; Banat Bulgarian: ''Smikluš'') is a town in Timiș County, Romania, and the westernmost of the country. Located in the Banat region, along the borders with Serbia and Hungary, it has a population of just over 14,000. Geography Sânnicolau Mare is the westernmost town of Romania and Timiș County, being also the third largest town after Timișoara and Lugoj.
