Volkswagen Caddy
The Volkswagen Caddy is a panel van and leisure activity vehicle (M-segment) produced by the German automaker Volkswagen Group since 1980. It is sold in Europe and in other markets around the world. Volkswagen Taro
The Volkswagen Taro 1 tonne pickup truck was introduced in January 1989 by Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles to complement the half tonne Caddy pickup / panel van ranges, and the 1 tonne Transporter van and chassis cab ranges. The name " tarō" is a suffix used in Japanese to denote the oldest brother or son, or the first-born son of a family. The Taro was a project of badge engineering. The Taro was a rebadged fifth generation Toyota Hilux, which was fully engineered and designed by Toyota. Volkswagen Group A Platform
The Volkswagen Group A platform is an automobile platform shared among compact and mid-size cars of the Volkswagen Group. It debuted in 1974 and was originally based on the engineering concept of the Volkswagen Golf Mk1, and is applicable to either front- or four-wheel drive vehicles, using only front-mounted transverse engines. Volkswagens based on this platform have been colloquially referred to by generation number, e.g. the first Golf version is referred to as an "A1 Golf". Often each generation is designated by substituting "Mark" for "A", but this can be misleading. For example, the Mk1 and Mk2 Scirocco are both based on the A1 platform. The Volkswagen Golf Mk1 is the first generation of a small family car manufactured and marketed by Volkswagen. Volkswagen Jetta (A1)
The Volkswagen Jetta A1 is the first generation of the Volkswagen Jetta compact car, produced by Volkswagen. Although the Golf reached considerable success in the North American markets, Volkswagen observed the hatchback body style lacked some of the appeal to those who preferred the traditional three-box configuration. The styling of the 1970 AMC Gremlin was controversial for truncating the Hornet sedan, but Volkswagen stylists reversed the process by essentially grafting a new trunk onto the tail of the Golf to produce a larger Jetta saloon.
