Vogeti Ramakrishnayya
Raja Vogeti Ramakrishnayya (10 October 1830 – 20 June 1900) was born to a ''zamindari'' family of Rajahmundry, India, where he was for a long time an honorary magistrate and municipal councillor, as well as a wealthy landlord who owned more than 16 businesses. Ancestry The Meraka Veedhi Telagas had a prominent role in the city, as they had been ''senathipathis'' (commanders) and ''samantharajus'' (governors) of the Vijayanagara Empire, who came to Rajahmundry in the year 1754, after occupying the nawab fort of Rajahmundry and serving for a century in Maratha armies. Their family deity is Sri Venugopala Swamy. Rajahmundry, officially known as Rajamahendravaram, is a city in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh and District headquarters of East Godavari district. It is the sixth most populated city in the state. During British rule, the District of Rajahmundry was created in the Madras Presidency in 1823. It was reorganised in 1859 and bifurcated into the Godavari and Krishna districts. Thotapalle is a village in the East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. It is the Mansabdari estate with the same name which is resumed by Government in 1881. It has a revenue of 46,462/- by 1874-75 and peskash of 6,310/-. It was an impartible estate which was resumed by the government in the year 1881 and they were granted with a Privy Purse of 19,500/- which continued till the abolition. Tanguturi Prakasam Panthulu (23 August 1872 – 20 May 1957) was an Indian jurist, political leader, social reformer, and anti-colonial nationalist who served as the chief minister of the Madras Presidency. District Munsiff Court (alternate spelling District Munsif Court) is the court of the lowest order handling matters pertaining to civil matters in the district, a legal system followed in the Indian subcontinent.
