Vicharnnoi Porntawee
Vicharnnoi Porntawee ( th, วิชาญน้อย พรทวี; January 25, 1948 – January 31, 2022) was a Thai Muay Thai kickboxer who competed in the 1970s. He was recognized as one of the greatest Muay Thai fighters of all time. Life and career Vicharnnoi (or Wichannoi) was born in 1948, he grew up in the Nonthaburi province of Thailand where he started Muay Thai training around the age of 12. His first fights were for the Srimuangnon camp; he used the ring names "Vicharnnoi Luktalatkwan" and "Vicharnnoi Srimuangnon" (วิชาญน้อย ศรีเมืองนนท์) during that period. Vicharnnoi then moved to the Porntawee camp in the Buriram province. In the ring Vicharnnoi relied primarily on his hands, throwing long and powerful boxing combinations, he also was a prolific low kicker. Narongnoi Kiatbandit
Narongnoi Kiatbandit ( th, ณรงค์น้อย เกียรติบัณฑิต); is a Thai Muay Thai fighter who competed during the 1970s. Biography and career Amnat Boonrod was born in the Ayutthaya province where he started Muay Thai training at the age of 14 by himself. He was fighting in temples under the name Raksak Thanomsak (รักศักดิ์ ถนอมศักดิ์). A year later he joined the Kiatbandit camp in Bangkok and made his debut at Lumpinee Stadium winning by knockout in the second round. Between 1974 and 1980, Narongnoi was one of the most dominant fighters in Muay Thai. He won the Rajadamnern Stadium titles at 126 and 130 lbs. The Chulalongkorn University Stadium, formerly Charusathian Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium owned by Chulalongkorn University in Pathumwan, Bangkok, Thailand. Indoor Stadium Huamark ( th, อินดอร์ สเตเดียม หัวหมาก, , ) is an indoor sporting arena, located in Bangkok, Thailand. The original capacity of the arena is 15,000 spectators and it was built in 1966 for the 5th Asian Games. After renovation for 2012 FIFA Futsal World Cup, the capacity is reduced to 6,000 seats and expandable to 8,000 seats. Khunponnoi Kiatsuriya
Khunponnoi Kiatsuriya ( th, ขุนพลน้อย เกียรติสุริยา); is a Thai Muay Thai fighter who competed in the 1970s. Biography and career Khunponnoi started training in May Thai at the age of 12 with his uncle, competing in the Pattani province and in the neighbouring provinces. At 14 he followed his cousin Noppadej to the Kiatsuriya camp in Bangkok. Khunponnoi reached the status of top fighter in just three years after moving to Bangkok, being matched up with elite opposition by 1974. He defeated Pudpadnoi Worawut by decision for the Lumpinee Stadium 130 lbs title on July 26, 1974. He lost his belt three months later to Wichit Lukbangplasoi. Jocky Sitkanpai ( th, จ๊อกกี้ ศิษย์กันภัย); is a Thai Muay Thai fighter who competed in the 1970s. Biography and career Phudta Naree started Muay Thai along his elder brother, he fought under the ring name Jocky Sing Sortor in Khon Kaen and neighbouring regions of Thailand until the age of 12. His powerful knees and fearless style beat many opponents in provincial arenas bringing him enough attention to be sent to the capital. Jocky made his first Bangkok appearance in 1971 for the Sor.For.Yor. Gym under the name Jocky Aor Wattana. He defeated many of the rising contenders of the era until his name was stained by a disqualification in a match against Petchmongkon Lerkchai at Rajadamnern Stadium. Bundit Singprakarn ( th, บรรดิษฐ์ สิงห์ปราการ); is a Thai Muay Thai fighter who competed in the 1970s. Biography and career Bundit started to train at home with his father and was competing by the age of 15. He struggled in his first attempts in Bangkok where he was dismissed during two fights. Bundit started to have success in the stadiums in 1971 withg a his strong middle kick style. A year later he won the Lumpinee Stadium 126 lbs title on December 8, 1972, against Denthoranee Muangsurin, he scored two knockdowns to win the belt by unanimous decision. Neth Saknarong ( th, เนตร ศักดิ์ณรงค์); is a Thai Muay Thai fighter who competed in the 1970s. Biography and career Neth started training in Muay Thai at the age of 14 with a trainer in his native village of Pang Khon. Neth then joined the Therdkiatpitak camp where he became a young phenom in the northeast regions of Thailand by winning 30 fights in a row. At 17 years old Neth made his debut in Bangkok and joined the Saknarong camp. During the 1970s Neth became a renowned fighter with powerful weapons from the southpaw stance. Vichit Praianan, also known as Wichit Lukbangplasoi ( th, วิชิต ลูกบางปลาสร้อย); is a Thai muay thai fighter and boxer. He was a Lumpinee Stadium champion in Muay Thai and a silver medalist in boxing at the Asian Games and Asian Boxing Championships. He participated to the 1972 Summer Olympics as a lightweight, where he lost to James Busceme.
