Narongnoi Kiatbandit ( th, ณรงค์น้อย เกียรติบัณฑิต); is a Thai Muay Thai fighter who competed during the 1970s. Biography and career Amnat Boonrod was born in the Ayutthaya province where he started Muay Thai training at the age of 14 by himself. He was fighting in temples under the name Raksak Thanomsak (รักศักดิ์ ถนอมศักดิ์). A year later he joined the Kiatbandit camp in Bangkok and made his debut at Lumpinee Stadium winning by knockout in the second round. Between 1974 and 1980, Narongnoi was one of the most dominant fighters in Muay Thai. He won the Rajadamnern Stadium titles at 126 and 130 lbs. Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya District
Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya ( th, พระนครศรีอยุธยา, ) is the capital district ('' amphoe Mueang'') of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province, central Thailand. Its former name as the capital city of Ayutthaya Kingdom was "Krungthep Thawarawadi Si Ayutthaya" ( th, กรุงเทพทวารวดีศรีอยุธยา). Benny Urquidez
Benny Urquidez (born June 20, 1952) is an American kickboxer, martial arts choreographer and actor. Nicknamed "The Jet", Urquidez was a non-contact karate competitor who later pioneered full-contact fighting in the United States. He made the transition from point to full-contact karate in 1974, the year of its inception in the US, frequently fighting in bouts where the rules were ambiguous and contrasts in styles were dramatic. Urquidez is also known for once holding the rare achievement of six world titles in five different weight divisions, and remained largely undefeated in his 27-year career. This is a list of highly notable Muay Thai practitioners (also known as nak muay). Legend * Nai Khanomtom (circa 1700s) - a legendary Thai soldier and boxer during the era of the Ayutthaya Kingdom who become known as the founder of Muay Thai. Khanomtom lived during the Second Burmese War (1765–1767). At that time, the Ayutthaya Kingdom was losing its long-running conflict with the Konbaung dynasty. In 1767, the capital of the Ayutthaya Kingdom fell, and Khanomtom was one of the warriors who were captured and sent as a captive to the King of Burma. After seven years of captivity, King Mangra wanted to see how Thai fighters would compare to his fighters. Pudpadnoi Worawut ( th, ผุดผาดน้อย วรวุฒิ) is a Thai Muay Thai fighter who competed in the 1970s. He is recognized as one of the greatest Muay Thai fighters of all time. Biography and career Ponn Ommklin started Muay Thai at the age of 14 in his native province of Khon Kaen, following the steps of his older brother. His parents wouldn't let him pursue Muay Thai full time before graduating high school which he did in 1969. During that period Pudpanoi competed in Isan over 60 times and went undefeated. At the age of 18 he went to Bangkok on the advice of a fighter from the Worawut camp, at this occasion Pudpadnoi used his famous ring name for the first time as he won his debut in Rajadamnern Stadium by high kick knockout. No contest (abbreviated "NC") is a technical term used in some combat sports to describe a fight that ends for reasons outside the fighters' hands, without a winner or loser. The concept carried over to professional wrestling, where it is far more common, usually scripted to further a feud, generate heat and/or protect a push. Boxing In the 19th and early parts of the 20th century, many countries (and some parts of the United States) officially banned boxing, and occasionally the police would step in to shut down the bouts (which, although unlawful, were still sanctioned by regional boxing commissions). Since boxing is now lawful virtually anywhere in the world, the number of fights called no contest has decreased dramatically since the beginning of the 20th century. Padejsuk Pitsanurachan ( th, เผด็จศึก พิษณุราชันย์); is a Thai Muay Thai fighter who competed at the highest level of Muay Thai in the late 1970s. He was the 1979 King's Muay Thai Fighter of the Year. Biography and career Khamsej started Muay Thai at the age of 14, fighting under the name Seisuk Kwanjaithungmon.
