Veksø Station
Veksø station is a station on the Frederikssund radial of the S-train network in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is located to the south of the town of Veksø. The station was designed by Simon Peter Christian Bendtsen. See also: List of Copenhagen S-train lines There are 86 stations that are operated in normal operation on the Copenhagen S-train, an urban rail network which serves the Copenhagen metropolitan area in Denmark. The stations are located on six suburban radial routes - A, B, Bx, C, E, H, and a ring line ( F). Forty-six are elevated, twenty-one are street level, fifteen are below street, four have different levels and one is underground. Veksø
Veksø is a small town located between Ballerup and Ølstykke- Stenløse in Egedal, some 20 km northwest of Copenhagen, Denmark. The town is on a hill, surrounded by meadows and bogland. Veksø station is served by the Frederikssund radial of the S-train network. History The area south of Veksø is the site of a large, shallow-watered lake which was called Vigsø until the 18th century. The name (Veksø) also referred to a castle which may have belonged to Skjalm Hvide of the influential Hvide dynasty. The estate was later owned by Christian I who gave it to Roskilde Cathedral in 1450. After the Reformation, Veksø was confiscated by the crown. The castle had probably been destroyed in the Counts' Feud or may simply have fallen into despair after losing its importance after Copenhagen had been established as Denmark's new capital. Side Platforms
A side platform (also known as a marginal platform or a single-face platform) is a platform positioned to the side of one or more railway tracks or guideways at a railway station, tram stop, or transitway. A station having dual side platforms, one for each direction of travel, is the basic design used for double-track railway lines (as opposed to, for instance, the island platform where a single platform lies between the tracks). Side platforms may result in a wider overall footprint for the station compared with an island platform where a single width of platform can be shared by riders using either track. DSB (railway Company)
DSB, an abbreviation of ''Danske Statsbaner'' (, ''Danish State Railways''), is the largest Danish train operating company, and the largest in Scandinavia. While DSB is responsible for passenger train operation on most of the Danish railways, goods transport and railway maintenance are outside its scope. DSB runs a commuter rail system, called the S-train, in the area around the Danish capital, Copenhagen, that connects the different areas and suburbs in the greater metropolitan area. Frederikssundbanen
Frederikssundbanen is one of six radial S-train lines in Copenhagen; it connects the city center with a number of Northwestern suburbs (notably Herlev and Ballerup) and other townships until Frederikssund on the Western coast of the Nordsjælland peninsula. Stations Service patterns The service pattern on the inner part of the line is the C service which stops at all stations until Ballerup. On the outer part the basic service is H, which runs partially non-stop until Ballerup. The H service is peculiar in that its frequency is ''not'' doubled during daylight hours, as all other basic S-train services are. Instead, in the period where C is doubled, half of its trains continue to Frederikssund, providing 6 trains per hour in total on the outer part of the line, too. Copenhagen S-train
The Copenhagen S-train ( da, S-tog), the S-train of Copenhagen, Denmark is a key part of public transport in the city. It is a hybrid urban- suburban rail serving most of the Copenhagen urban area, and is analogous to S-Bahn systems of Berlin, Vienna and Hamburg. The trains connect the Copenhagen inner city with Hillerød, Klampenborg, Frederikssund, Farum, Høje Taastrup and Køge. There are 170 km of double track with 86 S-train stations, of which eight are in neighbouring towns outside greater Copenhagen. The S-train is run by DSB S-tog A/S while Banedanmark owns the tracks and signals. Rail services are operated by "Fourth Generation" S-trains divided into 104 8-car train sets (Class SA) and 31 4-car train sets (Class SE). Herlev Station
Herlev station is a station on the Frederikssund radial of the S-train network in Copenhagen, Denmark. It serves the central part of Herlev municipality. Local busses from the bus terminal outside the station provide connections to remoter areas of the municipality. Måløv Station
Måløv station is a station in Måløv on the Frederikssund radial of the S-train network in Copenhagen, Denmark. Måløv station was built by Det sjællandske Jernbaneselskab (the Railway Company of Zealand, now Danish State Railways) and opened 17 June 1879 between Frederikssund and Frederiksberg. The railroad became electrified in 1989 and the traffic was transferred to the S-train network. In 2002, the railroad became double tracked in its whole length. The station building is also from 1879 when 3 stations were built according to the same plan: Herlev station, Måløv station and Veksø station.
