Egedal
Egedal Kommune is a municipality ( Danish, '' kommune'') in Region Hovedstaden in Denmark. It covers an area of with a total population of 42,297 (1 April 2014). Its mayor is Karsten Søndergaard, a member of the Liberal Party (''Venstre'') political party. Veksø
Veksø is a small town located between Ballerup and Ølstykke- Stenløse in Egedal, some 20 km northwest of Copenhagen, Denmark. The town is on a hill, surrounded by meadows and bogland. Veksø station is served by the Frederikssund radial of the S-train network. History The area south of Veksø is the site of a large, shallow-watered lake which was called Vigsø until the 18th century. The name (Veksø) also referred to a castle which may have belonged to Skjalm Hvide of the influential Hvide dynasty. The estate was later owned by Christian I who gave it to Roskilde Cathedral in 1450. After the Reformation, Veksø was confiscated by the crown. The castle had probably been destroyed in the Counts' Feud or may simply have fallen into despair after losing its importance after Copenhagen had been established as Denmark's new capital. Ølstykke-Stenløse
Ølstykke-Stenløse is a city located in the Egedal Municipality, in the Capital Region of Denmark. Both Ølstykke and Stenløse has been counted as one city by Statistics Denmark from 1 January 2010, and it forms the eastern part of the city closest to Copenhagen, 25 kilometers in a straight line northwest of City Hall Square, as well as Gammel Ølstykke and Ølstykke Stationsby in the west. The Capital Region of Denmark ( da, Region Hovedstaden, ) is the easternmost administrative region of Denmark. The Capital Region has 29 municipalities and a regional council consisting of 41 elected members. Ledøje-Smørum
Until January 1, 2007 Ledøje-Smørum was a municipality ( Danish, '' kommune'') in Copenhagen County on Zealand (''Sjælland'') island in eastern Denmark, then merged into Egedal. The municipality covered an area of 31 km2 (12 mi²) and had a total population of 10,525 (2005), northwest of nearby Copenhagen. Smørumnedre
Smørumnedre is a town and suburban area situated in Egedal Municipality in the northwestern outskirts of Copenhagen, Denmark and forms part of Copenhagen's urban area. The original village has merged with the neighbouring villages of Måløv in Ballerup Municipality and Jonstrup in Furesø Municipality to form an urban agglomeration with a population of 20,657 (1 January 2022). The small and relatively undisturbed village of Smørumovre ("Upper Smørum") is located about 500 metres to the west of Smørumnedre while Lille Smørum("Little Smørum") refers to a group of scattered farms to the south. Ølstykke is a former municipality in Region Hovedstaden. The former Ølstykke municipality covered an area of 29 km2, and had a total population of 15,358 (2005). Its last mayor was Svend Kjærgaard, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party.
