Vayu Stuti
Vayu STUTI is one of the most famous Stutis (poems) composed by Sri Trivikrama Panditacharya in praise of Sri Madhvacharya, the founder of the Dvaita school of philosophy. Madhvas, or the followers of Sri Madhvacharya, know that Madhvacharya is the third incarnation of Lord Mukhyaprana, being the first incarnation or Vayu who is the main deity and the Vayu Stuti has been written recognizing this order of incarnation. Legend has it that during daily puja done by Sri Madhvacharya in the sanctum sanctorum of Udupi Sri Krishna temple behind closed doors, Trivikrama Panditacharya used to recite the Dvadasha stotra outside. The end of naivedya or ceremonial offering of food to the Lard was indicated by sounding of bells. However one day, Trivikrama Panditacharya got increasingly curious as the sound of bells was not heard even after a long time. Sukta
The ''Rigveda'' or ''Rig Veda'' ( ', from ' "praise" and ' "knowledge") is an ancient Indian collection of Vedic Sanskrit hymns (''sūktas''). Dvaita Vedanta
Dvaita Vedanta (); (originally known as Tattvavada; IAST:Tattvavāda), is a sub-school in the Vedanta tradition of Hindu philosophy. The term Tattvavada literally means "arguments from a realist viewpoint". The Tattvavada (Dvaita) Vedanta sub-school was founded by the 13th-century philosopher-saint Madhvacharya. Madhvacharya believed in three entities - God, ''jiva'' (soul), and ''jada'' (''maya'', matter). Narayana Panditacharya
Sri Narayana Panditacharya (also referred as Narayana Pandita) ( IAST:''Nārāyaṇa Paṇḍitacārya'') (c. 1290 – c. 1370), is an Indian scholar and philosopher in the Dvaita Vedānta tradition. He was the youngest son of Trivikrama Panditacharya, one of the direct disciples of Sri Madhva He is the author of '' Sri Madhva Vijaya'', a metrical biography of the rejuvenator of the Dvaita school of philosophy, Sri Madhvacharya. Works Of Madhvacharya
The extant works of the Dvaita founder-philosopher, Madhvacharya, called the Sarvamūla Granthas, are many in number. The works span a wide spectrum of topics concerning Dvaita philosophy in specific and Vedic thought in general. They are commentaries on the Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavadgita, Brahma Sutras and other works. The list of works are enumerated below. Narasimha
Narasimha ( sa, नरसिंह, lit=man-lion, ), sometimes rendered Narasingha, is the fourth avatar of the Hindu god Vishnu. He is regarded to have incarnated in the form of a part-lion, part-man being to slay Hiranyakashipu, to end religious persecution and calamity on earth, thereby restoring dharma. Narasimha is often depicted with three eyes, and is described in Vaishnavism to be the God of Destruction; he who destroys the entire universe at the time of the great dissolution (Mahapralaya). Hence, he is known as Kala (time) or Mahakala (great-time), or Parakala (beyond time) in his epithets. Narasimha Nakha Stuti
Narasimha Nakha Stuti (also popularly Nakha Stuti), is one of the most famous and short Stutis (poems) composed by Sri Madhvacharya in praise of nails of Lord Narasimha written in Sragdhara metre. ''Stuti'' means eulogy, singing praise, panegyric and to praise the virtues, deeds and nature of God by realising them in our hearts. In this stuti Madhvacharya eulogised the power of lord Narasimha and his nails. Indologist B. N. K. Bhima
In Hindu epic Mahabharata, Bhima ( sa, भीम, ) is the second among the five Pandavas. The ''Mahabharata'' relates many events that portray the might of Bhima. Bhima was born when Vayu, the wind god, granted a son to Kunti and Pandu. After the death of Pandu and Madri, Kunti with her sons stayed in Hastinapura. Hanuman
Hanuman (; sa, हनुमान, ), also called Anjaneya (), is a Hindu god and a divine '' vanara'' companion of the god Rama. Hanuman is one of the central characters of the Hindu epic ''Ramayana''. Trivikrama Panditacharya
Sri Trivikrama Panditacharya (1258 - 1320), was an Indian scholar and one of the disciples of Sri Madhvacharya, the great Dvaita philosopher. He composed the Vayu Stuti, one of the most famous Stotras in the Madhva tradition.
