VA Cattaro
VA Cattaro (full name: Vaterpolo akademija Cattaro) is a professional water polo club and academy based in Kotor, Montenegro. The club was founded in 2000. As of 2021–22 season, it competes in the Montenegrin League and Regional League A2. History The first official match of the club's men's team was on October 17, 2008 against the German representative W98/Waspo Hanover, which won with 17: 7, in the qualification tournament for the LEN Euro Cup in the 2008–09 season, and in the end reached the knockout stages, where it was defeated by the Hungarian Szeged. Already in season 2009/10., its second participation in the second-tier European competition, Cattaro has managed to win the LEN Euro Cup. Water Polo
Water polo is a competitive team sport played in water between two teams of seven players each. The game consists of four quarters in which the teams attempt to score goals by throwing the ball into the opposing team's goal. The team with the most goals at the end of the game wins the match. Each team is made up of six field players and one goalkeeper. Excluding the goalkeeper, players participate in both offensive and defensive roles. It is typically played in an all-deep pool where players cannot touch the bottom. A game consists mainly of the players swimming to move about the pool, treading water (mainly using the eggbeater kick), passing the ball, and shooting at the goal. Kotor
Kotor (Montenegrin Cyrillic: Котор, ), historically known as Cattaro (from Italian: ), is a coastal town in Montenegro. It is located in a secluded part of the Bay of Kotor. Montenegrin First League Of Water Polo
The Montenegrin First League of Water Polo is the national professional water polo league in Montenegro. It was established in 2006. shortly after Montenegro declared its independence from Serbia and Montenegro. It is organized by the Water Polo and Swimming Federation of Montenegro. Three clubs from Montenegrin League are playing in Adriatic Water Polo League. The Regional Water Polo League (abbr. RWP), commonly known as the Regional League or Adriatic League, is a regional water polo league in Southeast Europe. Originally, the league featured clubs from Croatia, Montenegro, and Slovenia. In later years, clubs from Serbia joined the league and in one season club from Italy participated in the league. VK Primorje Erste Bank ( hr, Vaterpolski klub Primorje Erste Bank, commonly referred to as VK Primorje EB) is a professional water polo club based in Rijeka, Croatia.
